Festool Syslite overview

OK, so rather than buy (2) spare batteries compatible with my T15+3 @ $95. ea. it might make more sense to buy the Festool 564393 T 18 Cordless Drill, 18 Volt, 3.0 Ah set ($510.) which comes with two (2) batteries (compatible with the Syslite).  For an extra $310. I would then have the advantage of an 18v drill, >torque & ># screws per charge. 
As far as I see the right angle and offset chucks are compatible between the T15 and T18 drills.(?)
The other decision point being whether I really need the added torque of the T18 (I've never found the T15 to fall short).

You guys so NEED Protool. The PDC18-4 is the ducks guts.

It must be a BRUTE! 
I don't run lag screws & big forestners, etc. with my hand drill but (not being a contractor) I've never seen a lack of power in my T15 so I can't imagine I'll ever need more power than the T18 in a hand held drill.  (I was wrong one other time though  [big grin])

Maybe it was just the specimen of the Protool driver I tried in the store a while back, but it felt a bit flimsy with the gear change button being somewhat sloppy and having play in it nor did the motor sound too well either compared to the C15 I was looking at that time in the store.

So I left with feeling that the Protool was definitely targeted at construction type work without the Festool finesse. Grunt it has though.

Other than the previous transmission (gearing) difference mentioned, the Protool PDC 18-4 is a hammerdrill with a side handle mount behind the large chuck.  The Festool T 18 is not.

Good video overview.

An important thing that is not mentioned --- SAFETY  --- no skin burns and no fires.  Getting this amount of light from a battery operated device is wonderful

I don't understand why Festool or anyone else wouldn't come up with this for an answer to the hook/hanging issue when using a battery.  Have a hook that screws into the tripod mount!

I'll have a couple on the way (tomorrow), we'll take a look at it.  It almost seems that a screw in clamp would give more hanging/mounting options than a hook.
However, since it uses a standard camera mount thread the options already available out there are endless.

A raft strap or two would probably fine for hanging from a nail or rafter in an attic:

I may or may not be in the minority, but I'm super thrilled to have gotten the syslite!!!  My Woodcraft dealer was unwilling to meet me at midnight, so I had to settle for this morning!!!  I'm very happy to be letting my halogen lamp collect dust and looking very forward to having this bazillion lumen, miniature sun with me at all times!

Congrats, I called my local woodcraft yesterday and they didn't pre-order any so I ordered mine online last night.
