I have already posted this, but somehow lost it all.
Roller painting with a screen in a bucket is much more effective than Roller painting with a bucket.
Here are some pictures of a recent job where i could have used two more Sys4 or Sys 5's as SYSPainters.
I put a garbage bag in a Sys4 and use a screen rather than a horizontal paint pan.
At the end of each evening I would put the paint away and a few days later, I would come back and finish the room.
A systainer is much more effective than the bucket and screen set up. (I used a bucket for my ceiling paint and a Systainer for the wall paint). However, I know Festool could improve this setup:
1- make a small bucket that fits within the Systainer (SYS 4 or 5)
2- have a ridge on the bottom to keep a paint screen from moving toward a vertical position in the bucket
3- have hooks on the inside of the lid to hold paint brushes and rollers
3.5 - have a extension pole guide to keep the pole vertical.
4- make a handle that allows the entire systainer to be picked up when it is open (ie. to bring it upstairs with pain and rollers and brushes in the Systainer)
5- make the vertical angle of the screen steep enough so that the roller and extension pole stay standing in the bucket when the roller is resting at the top of the screen.
6- a steel plate so that I can mount my KAL + mag base to the Systainer (i use the painting bucket as a geographic marker in the space I am painting)
7- SysPainters would make paint transport (especially Primer transport) to and from site a cinch if there coould be small plastic bags that fit squarely into the bucket. These bags would have to be closeable and reopenable (using green tape).
Attach a Sys one to the top and you have instant paint brush, roller, and rolls storage. SysPainters also simplify paint logistics; one systainer can be used for each paint type and colour, thereby reducing the chances of contamination during team work.
Constructive feedback would be welcome.
