Festool TS 55 REQ-F

I just got myself a TS 55 about 2 weeks ago and upon using it for the first time the dust port keeps rotating constantly. It seems the port does rotate but rotates way toooo easily. I feel like if the wind blew slightly the port would rotate like a compass. I did have the Kreg track saw which dust port also rotated but once you selected an angle it would not move unless you moved it manually. I have seen/heard about wrapping my arm around the house before the cuts but that works for me only when crosscutting about the capacity of an MFT. However for longer cuts or cuts in odd spots of a sheet the wrapping of the hose around my arm does not work as well. 

MY QUESTION IS:
Is there a way to prevent the rotation in some way. Setting it in a specific angle and not have it move until I manually move it. I can understand why Festool wants it to move freely but whenever I use the track I plan ahead on where I want to hose to be. Any help would be appreciated. TY

I removed mine and crimped the edges with needle nose pliers to make rotationing stiffer.

The loose rotating extractor port is the most ludicrous feature on any power tool IMHO. It just flops down through gravity, especially when there's a hose connected to it. It then drags on the rail and other stuff. I got round the problem initially by cutting with the hose over my shoulder. I just glued mine up solid, pointing upwards.

The loose rotation on the dust port changes from a bug to a feature if you're using it with a boom arm that's suspending the hose: the easy pivoting means that the hose tends to stay out of your way as the saw moves through the cut and the boom slides or rotates above you. This probably isn't a sufficiently universal case to warrant the default design of the dust port working in this fashion, but I felt it was worth noting that the design isn't completely ludicrous and without merit.

Actually, it is absolutely sufficient for making it the default - you can always "fix" a rotating port but screw, glue, etc. But making a fixed port rotate ...

What is probably missing is a non-rotating dust port accessory which can be swapped in. The saw should ship with both.

I throw the TS55 vac hose over my shoulder. keeps everything out of the way.
