As we close in on another year end it becomes time to reflect on the past year.  With that I would like to give the highest praise and accolades to the guys at Festool USA for making this into an outstanding and informative forum.  It's a real pleasure to visit and a great place to pickup tons of useful information.  Thanks very much guys! [thanks]

EDIT:  A suggestion for next year (I've made before  [smile]) is to video record the training sessions and make them available to a great number of us either online or DVD's.  [wink]

As 2010 winds down and we look forward to 2011, I personally want to thank not only everyone here at FOG, but also the marvelous men and women on staff with Festool USA.

Minnie G coordinates the classes. She is the person who confirms our reservations for the class and is our advocate with the hotels.

Personally I have not needed to send any Festool back to be serviced, going back to my first TS55 I bought in January 2006. That and its companion CT22 have been used several days a week since then. Same goes for the 30+ Festools I have subsequently purchased.

Still, we give them preventive maintenance. This is possible because of the men and women at Festool USA HQ who take my parts orders and answer service questions for us.

I also want to thank my primary Festool dealer, Eagle Tools of Los Angeles. We we attend demo days there it is Jesse Barragan's charming wife who feeds us. When I need tools or accessories delivered at odd hours that will be their talented son. At their large store there are other folks who I consider part of my extended family. Oh, yes, Jesse's brother Ruben is my industrial plumbing contractor, building, installing and maintaining my dust collection and compressed air systems as well as the water and drains, plus HVAC.

+1 on all the above.
One of the big motivators for me in buying Festool is that I know there will be first class support.  Thanks to the guys in service, like many other customers I haven't had to send anything back, but they were on top of all the little problems and questions I had.  Thanks for the FOG, to Shane, and our moderators, and to the many knowledgeable  contributors.

And thanks to the dealers.  I have learned a lot from Bob and Tom.

Best wishes for a great new year!

I want to thank our customers, who see the difference in these tools.

I often say that some were born with a Silver Spoon and I was born with a Dirty Wrench... I grew up using tools of various quality and I appreciate the difference in the quality of these tools. I also appreciate the difference in the quality of the individuals that I work with, who use these quality tools and appreciate them like I do...

I have designed complicated, electro-mechanical instruments that had to endure conditions that seem like science fiction to most. Those that design these tools are to be respected, in my humble opinion.

Tom

While I am probably the face of Festool for many of you since I am the one that manages the forum, the company is full of great people who are dedicated and enthusiastic about our customers and products. All of them deserve credit for making Festool the best power tool company in the world (in my opinion). Also, we have a great bunch of dealers who represent the brand well and likewise offer customers great service and a great Festool experience.

On a personal note, I get a lot of satisfaction out of being a part of this forum. You guys make it easy to run the forum and provide so much useful information. Taking the time to share your projects, ask questions, answer questions, offer your opinions, provide feedback, and the list goes on. You, the members, are what makes this place what it is. I have been involved with the forum now for about 6 years and seen it grow and change. What a great online community! I am proud to be a part of it all.

Last, but certainly not least, the moderators are a huge asset to this forum. Not only to they carry the role of a member and do all of those things I listed above, but they also dedicate their personal time and energy helping to run the forum. They have spent time assisting me in coming up with ideas for contests and implementing those ideas. They have invested time in organizing the forum and keeping the peace. I have been lucky to have made two more good friends.

On behalf of my colleagues, my family, the moderators, and our dealers: a sincere and genuine thank you for a successful year on the forum and for your support of Festool.

I, for one, will have to say that as my first year of Festool ownership draws to a close, I have been nothing but totally happy with my decision to go that way.  I have nothing but highest compliments for Bob's sales, delivery and post-sale service.  I was absolutely delighted with the Festool router class, and even more so with the attitude of every staff member I met while in Lebanon, especially Minnie.  Brian's knowledge and positive attitude went a long way to make the experience the best.  It was great to meet Christian, too, and to know that there is a CEO that has a genuine interest in the products his company sells and in the customers that use the products.  Special thanks to Shane for doing such a great job on keeping the forum up-to-date and for his entirely positive attitude to every forum member.  Well done, Festool folks!!!  And for all the members of the forum, thanks for your contributions to my knowledge bank.  This has been a good year!

I'm a little late to this party and will echo the thanks to all the FOGGERS out there, Customers, Shane, the Moderators and the rest of the Festool staff -  Warehouse, Billing, Trainers, Service, Marketing, Managers, - from Christian on down. But speaking of staff, just to make  mention of that part of the staff that few know well, but we dealers do, and that's the 2 wonderful, dedicated ladies Julie and Gail, who answer those phones from 8 AM - 5PM, taking orders, answering questions, research problems/issues, squelch the fires, smooth things out..and do it all with a smile.
Here's to a Great 2011.

Bob
