Snip.
The Milwaukee power tools outperformed ALL other brands in every way power, durability, design, service, battery life.

Not that I abuse any of my tools, Festool or not, but your observation piques my interest. Next time, when I look for a new power tool, I'll give that brand another look. I settled for my Japanese cars, not because I was planning to abuse their engines or transmission, but because of their well-known reliability.

Hey where ya selling them at?
They're not in the Classifieds here

plz Provide a link.

Sorry guys, I'm not buying in.

I have a T15 that is a decade old. It has taken virtually everything I have thrown at it. I've replaced the cases once a few years back and the batteries last year. The old batteries I kept for use in the radio of syslite. This things sees a 6-1/4 hole saw on a regular basis and usually run it in 'screw mode' when doing so, so as to not abuse my wrist.

It really seems like a facebook-esque post.

Just my  [2cents].

It seems in N.A. That Milwaukee tools are reliable and durable but, over here, many I know have had issues, repeated issues too.
To be honest, I had the use of a Milwaukee drill and impact driver for three days, and I was very impressed with them. Awesome torque and power, yet the chap that owned them wasn’t over impressed.

I know for sure, that no matter what brand of power tools are being used, they will not last long, if the user doesn’t respect and look after them.
My employees know my thoughts on respecting tools and looking after them, and they treat them like they paid for them themselves.

A temporary worker we had recently abused a mitre saw, and damaged it, and almost lost a finger.
He was very experienced but, trying to speed up the job. I have no time for these types.

If my regular employees mistreated the company tools, they would either be asked to buy their own, or look for another job.

I own over a dozen Festool’s and love all of them (except maybe the Carvex). However, I have not bought any Festool cordless Tools. All of my cordless are Milwaukee M18 and M12 and they are great!

I’ve found Hilti to be best for industrial/ abusive use and festool for finishing use.

Hilti’s service turnaround times and lifetime warranty is unbeatable in my experience, plus the tools are very well made.

I agree,  I would never buy Festool power tools and hand them out to my workers on a Jobsite. I either buy mid range products like Milwaukee, Dewat etc.. or just rent them from Hilti if it’s a specialty need.

Reminds me of the teardown people like to point to on YouTube of the TS 55. I don't really care that the inside is plastic, because I don't abuse my tools.
Seconded.

Still remember the tear-down of a TS55 R where the guy was banishing the brass/friction bearing as something "low quality/cheap". Not understanding that a friction bearing is the most precise type of a bearing one can make - and the most expensive one when it is to be not only precise but also durable.

Combine that with folks using the TS for metal cutting, destroying the sensitive friction bearings in the process ...

Precise tools for precise work.
Power/Performance optimized tools for heavy work.

Buying Festool (Maffell, Fein etc.) for a job a cheaper but high-powered Millwaukee, Devalt or Makita will handle just as well is simply a wrong choice of a tool for a job.

Hey, you're leaving out the amazing pictures of [member=44099]Cheese[/member] 's Goldens . No post/thread can ever be nonsense when it leads to the posting of pictures of Goldens!  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

26 so far. Not sure if it matched or broke the record of one former huge Festool fan who dumped most of his Festool tools. I can't remember his handle on this forum or his name, but he even did a video to explain why he called it quits.

My personal opinion:

Eric was and still is a gentleman about it, not once did he badmouth Festool. But yes, he changed the tool brand and sold (part?) of his Festool tools.

Given how "invested" he was in Festool people asked questions when more and more Bosch tools popped up. He made a video and explained his view. Like the gentleman that he is. The video is out there and easily found.

He didn't make a fuss about it like the OP did by bragging about a different brand, on the Festool Owners Group. Simply not Eric's style, he is so much better than that.

Kind regards,
Oliver

I don't get his little tantrum here. And I sincerely doubt it's the truth.

And that's the perfect explanation why it is about doggies now.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Absolutely no pain involved on my part, I know what my Festool tools do for me every project. And more & most important I know what the people that run Festool have done for me, their most unimportant little customer.

And then there is this place. No, absolutely no pain on my end. :)

Experiences may vary and can be discussed, controversial, all day long. But I won't let people like the OP come and troll/destroy this place without at least getting trolled back. Which brings us back ... to the doggies.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Kind regards,
Oliver
