Festool van setup

Nice set up
I have to agree on the post about USA carpenters. Not very organized .
Out here you have to get a jacked up 4x4 it seems or you don't fit in.
I keep the rig clean & try to dress better for my jobs

Same thing here in Texas, only difference is a minimum 12" lift kit requirement lol... seams as if the guy with the biggest truck is the better contractor, at least in the publics eyes.  [ban]

I'm very jealous of all these sprinter type vans!  It's a challenge to be efficient working out of a pick up by crawling in on my hands and knees. In New England, the winters can be challenging so I've always been in the 4WD category. I have a high headroom 7x14 trailer but I don't drag it around at the expense of ridiculous gas costs. My truck has a cap & I've set myself up with all of the systainers I need for a typical cabinet/trim install. Only problem is that I can't fit a single piece of material in my truck...only moldings on the racks. I'll be looking into the 2014 offerings now that these style of vehicles are starting to gain popularity over here!

I am organized though!

Being in the trade for over 20 years ,I  can't remember ever seeing a serious, clean, well thought out set up(like this one)from guys here in the u.s.a. Hope I don't offend anyone but its true. Most cabinet/carpenters today i come in contact with dont take pride in there work or there tools, unfortunately. Not quite sure why?

Is that really what you all are seeing happen in trade?  Not offended...just curious because that hasn't been what i've observed by and large...  My trade is custom cabinetry.  I was taught and believe that organization is key to efficiency, morale, and ultimately saving dollars in the shop and on an install.  We have found that arriving for an install dressed like a professional and with quality tools does wonders for our "business image"  I've been asked many times "What is that thing? Some kind of vac?" [wink]  (Referring to the ct26 with work center....How do you begin to explain.....?  [unsure])  The Festool equipment and the laserjamb always seem to impress homeowners and the general contractors...
Anyhow I tend to believe that caring about the work we do and being organized has more to do with our values and how we were taught than what country we are born in... [smile]  Of course a little more hard work and a little less TV and computer time might help the future generations appreciate craftsmanship too! [smile]

Guess i got a bit off topic....as i mentioned earlier the OP has a fantastic setup!  I just keep going back and looking at the pictures [smile]

i can't agree with you more. I was just stating that the high end cabinet guys I know from being a profesional in the trade lack organization, proper tools,& a drive to improve. I never see guys, like myself, with organized, clean tools, investing hard earned money on tools to achive better, faster Product. And I'm always asking myself  why

Sounds like you could use a 4x4 van, well there is a company who does that... http://www.sportsmobile.com/

I have racked out my van too I think it's quite good

I work for a kitchen company in Ayrshire, Scotland, my college just got a new van and I've started racking his out too. I've made a few updates to his rack one of which is an integrated glass rack

Nice idea for the rails and levels. Looks like a lot of thought went into the layout.

It took some time to sort out all the spacing but it's worth the hassle. A lot of my tools were getting damaged falling out of the old shelves or lying about the floor

Very nice.

I like the glass rack and could see using it for expensive end panels and countertops.  Maybe even locking a MFT in place.

[big grin]
