Festool Vecturo OS 400 Tour and Demo - Video

When looking at the options please remember that the "Set" version has the extras that take this from super to brilliant. The plunge guide alone is worth the extra.

Thanks Peter [wink]

A plunge depth control seems an obvious thing for them to add for version 2. A DC shroud with a bit of cleverness would also seem viable when using the plunge unit ... maybe even an angle capability.

I'd love to see something a little more clever all up that doubles as both a Vecturo and drill stand!! Not out of the question if you think about it ... even a base to run along a short rail possibly. With a drill in to you're suddenly pocket hole capable too!

All said, I think the Vecturo as a unit looks sound and just needs some evolution in the accessory area.

As usual ... now I've watched the PP Vid I'll need to go out and buy the tool ... If Peter would only commit to reviewing a few tools he didn't like I could have some hope for a different ending. Alas the sequence is typically watch, want, buy [embarassed] [crying]

Curse you Mr Parfait [big grin]

He is a diabolical little devil, isn't he?

I can only apologise  [wink].

When I started making videos someone gave me some very sound advice - he said, don't waste your viewers time (or your own) making a 15 minute HD video that concludes with "this kit is rubbish". I do look for things that would annoy me after a while but I try to remember that all these things can be rather subjective.

Thanks chaps.

Cool video.

I think Festool has failed to make this ready for prime time though.

NO dust collection !  What's up with that Festool?

I thought you prided yourself on clean jobsites ?

NO sanding pad attachment ?  Lotsa unused capability there.

If you wanna tell us you are clever and thought of this stuff but aren't releasing it yet, then shame on you for letting the sales weasels call the shots.

And before y'all think I'm just a basher - I have lotsa Festool gear , even some dating back to the Festo days before the spin off and most of you guys had even heard of this stuff.

Excellent video, I visited the forum today in hopes of finding some more details and a review of the Vecturo and this was excellent. I'm surprised with the lack of DC and depth stop on the plunge guide. As many have said and I echo only for dramatic effect, it seems they are the key features for Festool and are missing and missed.

Don't worry there will probably be a woodpeckers one time only Vecturo depth stop kit in a systainer available soon lol

I bought the Vecturo the day it was introduced (Norway) aprox. 2 months ago. It is a great tool! It cuts like a warm knife in butter. It has been one of my most used tools since than. I recommend to buy the version with the depth-stop and 90 deg-jig included as i find my self using this accessories 80% of the time. It also produce a great amount of dust (and steam if the wood is humid). But the vacuum hose eliminates the dust cloud efficiently. I also have a Bosch oscillator saw on battery but the Vecturo is 10 times more powerful.

Thanks Peter.  My Vecturo arrived by currier about two hours ago accompanied by the usual sparse documentation from Festool.

Having seen some of your video demos on other tools, I immediately checked to see if you had done one on the Vecturo.  You answered all the questions that I had after having tried to cope with the Festool manual.  Great job!

Many thanks Frank. Enjoy your new toy tool. It is a great bit of kit.
