hi all, this will be my first post on this forum.
im a self employed joiner who has been using makita for a long time but battery problems are really starting to annoy me so time for a change and festool is the route im taking as i hear nothing but good reviews

the first thing i will be buying is the ctl midi extractor then gradually start to replace my battery tools.

have seen people selling £50 off extractor vouchers on ebay and was wondering if these vouchers are the real deal or not as that amount off would be a massive help this close to christmas, especially with two young girls wanting everything they see on tv  [big grin] [big grin]

If such a voucher exists, you'll probably find someone on here that will post it to you for nothing (perhaps a beer) if you need one.

I don't have one though, sorry.

i wouldnt expect anyone to post one for nothing, i dont mind paying for one as long as they are legit. just had another look and it says they expire on the 13th december

Call festool uk and see if you can get a demo of a tool. You used to be able to get demo voucher. Don't buy a voucher they were given out for free I sure that promotion is over I am sure [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member] could confirm that and welcome to the forum

Hi
The demo vouchers were stopped some time back. I have sent p.m to the o.p explaining the recent promo.

Welcome! You may be sorry you started!  [smile]
I had one of those vouchers once (after I'd bought my extractor...typical) and yes, I would have gladly posted mine for free too. Most people are happy enough to help people out when they're getting started - a bit like drugs...although I'm not sure which addiction would end up being the most costly!
Anyway, I digress.
All I was going to say is to have a real good shop around as you can always find an extractor at an equivalent price (£50 off full retail) and I would encourage you anyway to look at buying it as part of a bundle, say with a ts55 or something. It works out cheaper and you won't regret it. I'm going to be paying off my tools for about the next 3 years but every time I use them, I consider it worth it.
Read up plenty on whatever you're buying. This forum is probably the best place to do that. Good luck!

I believe the latest vouchers were sent out by Axminster although they can be redeemed at any dealer. Perhaps worth giving Axminister a call to see if they can send you one?

Thanks for all the replies, been very helpful.

As much as I would like to buy a bundle to get a bit cheaper I can't justify it this close to Christmas, from what I've been reading on this site though once I'm hooked on Festool the kids won't be getting many presents next year  ;D ;D [laughing]

Will give Axminster a call tomorrow and see what they say, I can't really see it happening for me as its a company I have never dealt with before, worth a try though and I will let you's know the outcome

Well, got in touch with Axminster and they have told me that they don't send Festool extractor vouchers out and to get in touch with Festool uk and see if they are feeling generous  [big grin]

I didn't see one and I'm on their mailing list.

Are Festool vouchers just a UK thing?

NAINA.

There was a short program that allowed Festool reps to demo tools on a jobsite and provide a voucher for a purchase within 30 days in the US, but that program was ended.

[popcorn]

Decision made, I'm buying one of the Axminster vouchers for £10 and using it at a uk company (definitely not Axminster) that I have been in touch with who accepts these vouchers, so will end up getting £40 off
