Brushless updated Domino
Brushless low profile updated RTS400
I'd buy both instantly.

I'm trying to understand what is so significant about the brushless Domino? What would a brushless Domino do better or easier than a brushed Domino?

The brushless RTS already exists with the RTSC 400.

As I pointed out in the other thread with this list, Festool has little to no incentive to update or modify the Domino until their patent protection expires.  Theoretically they would start working on that a year or two before the protection goes away, so as to be able to release the updated product against the new competition in the market.

That said, a brushless motor doesn't really gain much benefit here, unless someone thinks their Domino needs to run at a slower speed for different materials?  There are plenty of ergonomic fixes that would be much more benefit to an updated Domino, not the least of which would be a fence system similar to the Lamello Zeta P2 or a cammed fence height adjustment.

I think the request for the RTS is to make it low-profile as well, so more like an RTS-EC rather than the current form factor.  Making the RTS longer and fatter and extractor-required would take away 90% of the benefit when it comes to being able to fit the sander into a drawer or other corner space.  Same goes for the DTS, honestly.

IMO brushless tools are better, last longer, and require less maintenance, etc.

Regarding some of the options listed above, not everyone wants a cordless unit. When I am referring to a lower profile RTS Brushless unit, I would like to see the top handle lower and to have a similar brushless motor like the new random orbit sanders. Same goes for the recip saw and table saw… not everyone wants to go with battery powered tools.

I don’t actually wish it, but why is there no Systainer IPhone case?

If you wanna see the definition of "race to the bottom", look no further than this product category.

The sheer number of different SKUs you need just to cover the full iPhone size range and currently-sold models for a single colorway is atrocious.

I'm with you on brushless versus brushed...If you have a tool with a brushed motor and it works there is no justification for buying a brushless version if it is brought to market. Now if you have run into performance issues and are using it in a production environment then yes. I can say with a high level of confidence when it is sold with a brushless motor there will be other cost cutting compromises to the tool as they have done with revisions to other tools.

Any plans in the future to release corded versions of thr newly released products such as the table saw, sawzaw, etc?

Laminated top for the MFT. I'd had mine stored in a closet for a few of the warmer months and it came out smelling like mildew as MDF just acts like a sponge. Melamine-clad MDF would be an upgrade over the unfaced stuff.

I posted this on our Facebook fan page recently and there were a lot of responses.

Obviously, we've had many threads here with various "wishes" but in a word or two, let's hear what you wish Festool would offer that it currently doesn't.

A cordless handheld router

PS - Please keep it clean.  [embarassed]

I wish Festool made a fold-out router table with internal router. with 12 mm collet, electronic lift to precise height, electronic fence to precise distance … that fits in a systainer (similar to CSC SYS 50).

Not sure this wish will be granted  :D
