Finally got to use some of my stuff

Been spending a lot of time trying to set things up, test things, etc.  Finally got to use my cutting station thats part of my large Paulk table.  Also able to put my TDS-10 dogs to use for the first time.

I just started to make 3 wall cabinets for the garage and I wanted to start doing the 32mm system.  After I cut my side panels, I watched more videos and realized that you should make the height evenly divisible by 32mm.  So I had to cut 19mm off of my six panels.  Didn't want to use my small table saw so this cutting station makes it a breeze.  I love how solid it is.

I need to find a good measuring solution.  Took a bit to get everything set up for exactly 896mm length.

Nice setup! I am using a similar one but much smaller. I ended up putting a scale in a shallow dado.

The Part fence is solid but I dislike mine for two reason. The first is no scale for cuts. I can get over that. What I find more annoying is that there is no flip stop. Yes, you get a stop with it but it doesn’t flip. So I am still looking for another solution that fixes both of these problems.

Thanks.  I wouldn't mind a picture of the tape/dado if you have one.  I am thinking about that as well.  I would like to come up with something that just sits in a couple of dog holes and has the 'measuring' built in somehow..  It sounds better in my head.

The Parf fences are ok and I also very much dislike the stops that came with them.  I get the same 5-cut test results just by using the tall Veritas dogs with the larger shoulder.

I bought two of the fences and today just noticed that the dogs that came with them are of differing lengths....wierd.

Rick, Do those Rail Dog Clips perform well?

Been meaning to pick some up as they seem to solve the only niggle I have with the speed/efficiency of performing multiple repeat cuts with the kind of setup you’ve pictured.

Why not use the benchdogs.co.uk fence setup?

When you're making 32mm panels after your first cut put the two lr32 stops on the guide rail and test the fit over the panel. It will be tight if the panel is exactly divisible by 32mm.

Once I am ready to cut, yep, they are perfect.  The process to remove one board and put in another is taking getting used too.  Especially like the picture where I have a fence and the TDS dogs in the way.  If I don't hold the track right, one end comes up off the holding Parf dog.  When the track is not secure, the track can easily work its way off one clip.  I would rather be using a 42" rail here but the longer 55 works better for me.  I recommend them for sure.

Thanks Matt.  I think I had looked at their fences at one point but I was not in the '32mm' frame of mind.  I will have to reinvestigate a little further.  Thanks for the pointer.

guide rail with the Parf dogs in the ripping direction and using the router on the rail. A downcut spiral bit should avoid the tearout that I got on the holes.

benchdogs.co.uk looks great. It has many features that are important to me. Scale, flip stop, under-rail support for thin stock. However, I hesitated for two reasons. 1) I dislike their system for placing the guide rail on the MFT. I have to recheck but I think I lose crosscut width. Adjusting the height of the rail dogs (not sure how they are called) seems like a pain. With the Parf fence, the tall dogs are neatly integrated in the fence, which seems like a better solution (although both seem inferior to a rail support bracket). 2) I saw very few positive posts on the benchdogs.co.uk fence system here. I would love to hear from users... For example, it seems more flimsy/less solid compared to the parf fence with all the different parts that need to be connected.

[member=72953]Josh2[/member] Thanks Josh, I will look into this option.  I have a couple of those tapes somewhere.

I little low tech solution if you need to make more panels the same length is to:
1) Mark both Parf Fences so you always use one on the left and right.
2) Adjust the flimsy stop that comes with the fence to the cut length you currently want to keep.
3) Scribe a line on the Parf Fence.
4) Remove flimsy fence stop.
Optional: Use a marker to write down the length. Gucci option: color in the scribed line and label its length.

Use your guide rail in the same spots and the fences, the measurement stays for when you need it again.

Also, I only use 1 TSO stop.

[member=72953]Josh2[/member] Hey Josh, thanks for the picture you provided.  I was able to find the one I wanted pretty quickly and get it dadoed in.  It goes out to 1700mm.  Turned out pretty good.  Sometimes the best solutions are the simplest.  Thanks again.
