I just finished these two display cases for a friend. They are 6' tall by 2' wide. I used Sapele for the frames and Sapele ply for the tops and bottoms.  The back is Maple ply as the friend wanted to display her Kou bowls so I used the Maple for contrast. The door frame is Mango as is the trim on the top. I really wanted a door without the center brace but I was afraid to have a piece of glass that large. They are 6 adjustable glass shelves. I did mostly all the joints using the Domino 500. Only the doors I used half laps.

Thanks for looking,

Rob

Agree with Peter, the Mango is stunning; really adds to the cabinet without overbearing the display items (equally appealing).  Thanks for posting!

Nice selection of woods and details.

The only thing I might explore is perhaps putting a simple base with four straight legs - maybe 4" to 5" tall on the bottom under what you have.  I think it would bring the proportions into order a bit more.

Thanks for sharing!

Those are gorgeous, Rob!

I'm going to guess Hawaii? We don't see much mango here except in the grocery stores...

Those cabinets are really nice. [thumbs up] Love the contrast of light and dark woods. Been waiting for a project to come along where I can can try this mixing of light and dark woods.Never come across mango though in the uk. What is it like to work?
