First Day as a Festool Owner and my Wife's Reaction to the Domino XL

Spent some quality time with my new CT36 and Domino XL this afternoon and I'm blown away by the quality of these tools.  I was hesitant to spend the money at first, but I'm so glad now that I did.

Best part of the day was when my wife came out to the shop to check out the new stuff and after I got done telling her how the Domino was the coolest tool ever - she asked me to show her what it did.  I cut a mortise and she said - "So...it just makes those holes?"

Maybe you had to be there, but it was hilarious.

The "better half" of the species has those great moments when they simplify things that are so amazing to us. So, I can relate to your story. And congrats on the new items!

Yeah, then when she finds out the next tool 'just' makes holes too she may begin to wonder. Probably safer purchasing a saw next.  [wink]

I remember proudly demonstrating my metal lathe to my mother long ago and her asking: "But why do you want to make those long metal shavings?"  Still makes me smile.

Honey, it does two things.

1.  It makes those holes.

2.  It and these other tools make me become a cabinetmaker.

It drills the holes while I make the cabinets.
