First festool order...guidance needed

I really want a ro90!!
Why, it doesn't sound like something you will need. But I really don't know what you have planned...

Do you think i should get the sander instead of the drill right off the bat?
No, wait for the TSX and get that. I love the CSX, but I run out of juice using it. I really like the fine control I can get from it, so it's great for cabinet installs. For rough work I have a Milwaukee 12V that is really handy.

I dont have a workbench amd was planning on building one that why i wasnt buying an mft3 and it doesnt seem like it would be very good as a woodworking workshop bench... am i wrong?

No, based on what you are planing to make I would do the same.

Is the 106" rail good enough for ripping 4x8? Why would i pay extra for the 118"?
You need the 118" to rip, you can get away with the 106 but you are always going to plunge cut to start etc.

I wasnt planning on getting a plunge router right away because of the router table amd being able to take the router off if needed for free hand stuff.

Taking a router in and out of a table is a PITA, but if you don't mind then go for it.

Thanks Tim!

What would be the benefit of waiting for the tsx drill over the csx? From what i read it seems to just be a different handle. Am i wrong?

Dood it sounds like you have quite a
Budget, so yea get the Kapex w/ the Kapex MFT and side extensions. You'll need a variety of clamps including the elements whichnreally come in handy . You might want to think about the boom arm. Since you got a table mounted router I still say go for the 1010 and get the LR 32 system.
You might want to get a extra flag stop for your MFT and the stabizing arms that help limit the tables movement.
I got the C12 drill it's a little. Ore expensepive then the CXS but with the kit you get all 3 attachments where with the CSX they only make 2 of the attachments.
As far as guide rails get the 300, and  a holy rail. I got 2 holy rails to connect together rather the the long holy rail.  I get more out of 2 holy rails. You'll need the parallel guides to, with extensions. You need a couple of sanders I suggest the ro90 and the ro150, the LS 130 will come in handy to.
That should about get you started

Well, for me the 2.6ah battery, but by the time you wait for the TSX, the newer CSX will be in NA...maybe. I like the T format but I will buy a set of the 2.6ah batteries for my CSX.

Based on the fact that the 106" rail isnt ideal for ripping 96" would that mean that the 55" rail doesnt cross cut 48" properly?

correct.

I have both the 55" and the 106" and neither are the perfect fit for 4' or 8'  If you are not mobile, have space and want what matches up the best to rippin' up 4x8 sheets you should go with a 75" and a 118" inch.

Don't get me wrong, If you are careful the 55 and the 106 like I have work, they just are not the best fit.

You are going to be new tool drunk when all of that arrives.

Love it! That would be a great name for a band - or a website?

I know! I am trying to extend the intoxication by having things delivered sporadically....

Festool this week
Oneida dust collector next week
Sawstop in two weeks
Supermax and laguna in 3 weeks
Jointer, planer, mortiser, router table in four weeks.

This gives me time to set up and spend a little time getting used to stuff and not getting too overwhelmed or drinking myself to death!! Lol
Its been alot of months of planning. Lets hope it all come together well.

Gentmantel and sons in Montreal. Great place

Thanks, I notice that they sell ECE tools along with some other European brands too.
Good to know.

shaneymack,
Don't leave the systainers all open at the same time.  That wonderful Festool new tool aroma will take over and make you buy more! [scared]

Ya they have some nice stuff. If ever you do business with them ask for Kurt. He is the owner and is a really nice guy.
