My first FULL kitchen build and install. I have previously installed lots of kitchens, yet this is the first one I've designed and built.
Carcasses are have been made from Birch ply with Morrells 20% lacquer. Full sheets of 8x4 cut with festool plunge, seneca parrallel guides and mft table.
Face frames are Popular 36mm across the face and 27mm deep, screwed together and pocket holed onto the cabinets, all flush on the inside apart from the to as this under hangs. Holes LR32
Doors are 70mm x 27mm with a 9mm panel and 10mm domino. Solid drawn 63mm butt hinges morticed into door only. 5mm diameter magnets sunk into frame and door to aid the door staying closed, works really well. Oak drawer boxes made with liegh super jig with blum under mount runners. Cornice made in two pieces with a bull nose bit, then glued and screwed. Two coats of Morrells WB primer and one hand coat followed by two spray coats, 20% sheen colour matched lacquer to Farrow & Ball Cornforth White. All plinths, end panels etc are also Birchply. Appliances are Bosch and Worktops arranged by customer. About 4-5 weeks build and three days to install.

looks great! uneven gaps on inset doors will bug the crap out of me. overlay for me lol

Fantastic job!  The fit and finish is top-notch.

Thanks for posting.

Looks very nice.

I do have a question though. Why are the nobs on the passage doors so high off of the floor?
They look to be about 1 1/2 meters.

Olden days in the UK, I recall they were like that in the house I grew up in the 70s.

Very nice, most people don't appreciate how much work goes into something like that.

Great job - really nice design and choice of color.  Love the inset doors and drawers.

Congrats!  For a first build and install, you did great!

Very nice. A really good result, and very well done. As DougS said, most people don't appreciate how much work something like that is!

I don't mean to pick your work apart, I think it's really good, but there's just a few points I'd like to ask about (more curiosity about why you made a certain decision, rather than being critical of the decision itself):

Personally I'm not sure about the end panels, with the additional rails. I realise they're done (very well, I might add) to line through with the fronts, but they look a little too busy IMO. Just personal preference, but curious as to why you went for that design & if they turned out how you expected?

What's going on with the dishwasher door? The gaps around the frame along with the cut-out in the plinth indicate it's a fully integrated door & frame, so why the additional gaps between the top/mid rails and the stiles?

The extractor housing seems huge compared to the size of the extractor in it. I realise it's quite a big run so it might not have been a concern, but it does waste a lot of space. Did you consider making more/better use of the dead space?

The only truly 'picky' comment I could make is that the joint in the plinth looks quite obvious, but that's really a minor point.

That design of door, with the three long thin panels to the bottom 2/3rds & one large to the top (and the high handle!) was very popular in the 1930's, presumably when this property was built. A lot of 30's properties in the UK still have the original doors.

All looks very nice and well made to me.
The only thing that surprised me was the power socket with the yellow leads close proximity to the sink, maybe it's just the angle of the photo but it looks to near to the sink to me.

No, it's fine where it is. UK regs state 300mm IIRC.

Firstly, absolutely beautiful work; well done!  I wish you were nearer - I'd ask you to quote for a new kitchen for us!

And to answer:

Fantastic work, you will certainly enjoy and take pride in that space. I especially like the cabinet/hutch build next your refrigerator....well done indeed.

I have a similar set up, eg a broader hub (in my case 120 cm), with TWO extractors. Those take up a lot of space. In fact I have lift up panels on my units and just enough space to put a few smalle items there.

Very nice job BTW. And I understand the reasoning for the 'decoration' of the end panels — showing the construction behind. And I love the color (colour for you), Farrow & Ball rock, even though you used another brand (I have done the same!).

Many thanks guys.

JRB - great observation. You have spotted my most obvious flaws in this project. End panels are a stolen idea from kitchens that I fit for an interior designer that buys his kitchens in. I like it, perhaps a little fussy, where a simple shaker panel would suffice.
DW door major malfunction!!! I made after the kitchen install, I was so far behind in the project and I guess I rushed it and messed up. Didn't notice myself until install. Like wise with the extractor housing. Always explained and sketched out the plan and they were happ, hind site I could have put in more effort to incorporate storage etc. They picked all electrical items.
Lastly in my defence, as previously stated I was way behind on making and install date. My last day there the family were leaving for a 10 day holiday and didn't want the keys left. I have to go back and fit the glass splash back, so will allow a day and tinker with plinth etc. Also missed a shelf out of a cupboard. Will also confess to DW door...
Thanks very much for ALL the feedback especially the constructive. It is greatly appreciated and will only make me better.
