First full kitchen build

Many thanks guys.

JRB - great observation. You have spotted my most obvious flaws in this project. End panels are a stolen idea from kitchens that I fit for an interior designer that buys his kitchens in. I like it, perhaps a little fussy, where a simple shaker panel would suffice.
DW door major malfunction!!! I made after the kitchen install, I was so far behind in the project and I guess I rushed it and messed up. Didn't notice myself until install. Like wise with the extractor housing. Always explained and sketched out the plan and they were happ, hind site I could have put in more effort to incorporate storage etc. They picked all electrical items.
Lastly in my defence, as previously stated I was way behind on making and install date. My last day there the family were leaving for a 10 day holiday and didn't want the keys left. I have to go back and fit the glass splash back, so will allow a day and tinker with plinth etc. Also missed a shelf out of a cupboard. Will also confess to DW door...
Thanks very much for ALL the feedback especially the constructive. It is greatly appreciated and will only make me better.

Thanks for the answers. I did wonder if the plinth was one of those 'last minute rush' jobs as you're trying to get out of the door! Done that myself before now & had to go back to fix it.

Your last sentence is very true - it will make you better next time. I've done a couple of 'bespoke-ish' kitchens, but only ever built one completely from scratch. Despite that, I learned a lot from it (like how NOT to do certain things!) and the next one, when it comes, will be much better.

Don't be so hard on yourself, it's a very elegant job with the smallest of flaws that very few clients would ever even see.

If there's a questionable socket I'd say it's the one to the right of the hob which is going to get mighty warm if all the rings were in use!

Are there cabinet lights at all? Doesn't seem a very high density of downlights for such a large open space.

Nice job. I quite like the the extractor unit, design over practicality. Not sure about the end panels, I probably would have done differently.
I do like the overall look though, I'm sure your customer is very pleased.

I always enjoy doing bespoke kitchens, get to use a lot of my Festool.

Nice job Mahmomo,

The first one is always a steep learning curve, and you should always be learning and finding better ways to do things anyway. Time, cost, efficiency. The main thing is to enjoy it.

Regarding JRB's comment on the extractor, you couldn't of made it smaller as the proportions to the cookers beneath and thus the cab size would of made it look horrendous. One thing to consider is that you should have an extractor bigger in width than the cooking area.

I am currently working on one which has custom internal storage in every single cabinet = absolute nightmare. But will be amazing when finished.

looks great, looking for ideas for my own kitchen build.

I'm on my 7th month of a kitchen build now. It is for the wife though and the goalposts keep moving - make a patio, build a porch, dog-proof the garden, panelling in the lounge - I've started asking for a list these days. I'll need it in writing when the poo hits the fan and she realises how long it's been.

er..ah... em.... I'm just an American, not used to using the "queens" english (but a good friend is a barrister in London who I love speaking with) but what is an extractor and where is in the pictures?

never mind... Over here we call it the a vent-a-hood or just the hood...  It's actually a brand name but used like calling making a paper copy a "xerox" copy.
