Afternoon all

I am in the UK, and doing a flat roof extension and wondering how best to cut 4.8m long furring strips out of 4 by 2 for the fall on a flat roof.

Done one....hmmmm, saw really slowed and laboured and stopped, restarted etc, hard getting the guide rail (2.8m long) to stay still.

Using a 48 t blade.

Ideas?

(its 50mm thick too, and with the rail its touch and go if it makes it through the wood)

Just a guess but if you are ripping, maybe try the Panther blade.  Less TPI, much better for ripping.
