Does anyone know the difference in the foam kits that Festool sells?  I am trying to figure out what items I need to customize a Systainer I.

Festool 497877, Foam Inserts for SYS-Vari, $30
- Appears to have the dimpled lid insert, XX thick diced foam middle, and XX thick solid foam base.

Festool 497878, Diced Foam Insert for SYS-Vari, $17.75
- Appears to have XX thick diced foam middle and XX thick diced foam base.

Festool 498044, Dimpled Lid Foam, $8.50

NOTE: XX represents measurements that I have not found.

[member=63201]RustE[/member], we only have the 497877 in stock right now and each of the pieces is roughly an inch thick. Hope that helps.

The base insert and all the filler pieces are 25mm, the dimpled lid is 30mm.  The Tanos versions are linked below.

The 497877 set has one base, one perforated filler piece and the dimpled lid foam.  That will fill out a sys1 leaving a 20mm gap above the top perforated foam and the top edge of the systainer base.

The 497878 has two perforated filler pieces only.  So you would add those to the 497877 to fill out larger systainers.

Thanks for the info [member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] and [member=21249]RKA[/member] .

From the pictures of 497878, I thought one piece was the perforated base foam.  Maybe they just spun the pieces 180° in the photo?
