Sorry that is mostly not true most of (all of) the YouTube video is now H264 and that plays on iOS devices (iPod touch, iPhone, iPad) it is the pure Flash that will not run.
Most of the reason is that up to now Adobe can not ship a flash player that is stable and is not a resource hog.
I am happy that many adverts are flash based (the it seems that that is most of the 25% of the net I don't get [poke] Mr Smith ;D) as I use click to flash which blocks flash until I realy want it.
