I don't have any suggestions for the UK FOGgers, but for the Canadians out there, so as to get round the import taxes, duty and extra shipping charges, I am having my FOGtainers shipped to a warehouse just a mile over the US border in Champlain, NY. Their handling charge is $3 a package. Then when I re-cross the border back into Canada, I just have to pay the duty which is nominal (FOGtainers are $10 each, right?  ;))

The website of the warehouse is:-

I am sure there are a bunch of these places all over the US close to Vancouver, Toronto etc. I just wait for a quiet day in the office combined with a nice day for a drive and take a 40 minute drive to pick up my stuff.

Richard.

Richard,

Couldn't you cross the border with some old tool in the trunk, then on the return put the tool in the systainer? (or some similar such thing?)

Is there a min number you need to make this group purchaes a go?

Example: The total number of FOGstainer must be greater the 200 for this Group Purchase to be a go. If you sell less the 200 the group purchase is off and we all get our money back?

Just asking?

There isn't a minimum order number, but the costs per unit go up and if there isn't enough of a cushion, I pay the difference out of my pocket.

Peter

Edit:  I am sorry.  That post probably reads wrong.  What I should have said, is that I have always anticipated a decrease in numbers from what was originally indicated in the first thread or the second thread and have had to give anticipated numbers - without any guarantees - to the parties involved.  The costs for printing have a sweet spot.  The shipping from Europe has a sweet spot.  That depends on size of systainer as well as total quantity.  I did build in a cushion, but regardless of what the numbers are, I gave my assurances to many people to do everything I could to see this project to the end.  And I will.

I am proud of this project and what it has done for the forum.  It will only do better.  There is time, and as Nickao said in his own words, the orders will accelerate as the deadline looms.

Keep smiling!

Hello to all, just thought I would give you a look at what you could have, all you need to do is ORDER NOW!!! Enjoy. [thumbs up]

I like the look, the blue and the green goes well together, blue is a far more practical colour than the off white of the festool systainers.
I bet that they will hold their colour far better than the off white which do go a horrible yellow.I would love to replace all my systainers with these.

If the fogtainer is a huge success perhaps it could be a annual event, what do you think Peter bit to early? [poke]

thinking aloud how about adding a date to the printing .......  2010 edition  ...... probably a bit late......

Oh yeah, they still look lovely over time, don't they?  [wink]

I can't help it, I'm just a fan of the light grey systainers.
