Peter,

Can you post one of the Fogtainers with the sticker at a higher resolution so we can see what all the good fuss is about?  [smile]

Wooohooo!  Got home and it was a Systainer kind of night.

Received the two from Dovetail65, and 40% of my FOGtainers.

The FOGtainers are really quite nice.  *Happy dance*
Looking forward to the others probably tonight.

Proof:    (the flash really made this picture look weird!)

Received the Fogtainer today.  GREAT job on the label and color matching.  Love the blue and green latches.

Excellent job - your attention to detail and communication through the process was outstanding.

And yes, I have a photo as proof!

I like the stickers on the fogtainers 1 and I can say it just passes on the systainer 2 (Wood_junkies I think dem fogtainers are 2 or 3?)even tho wood junkies bad photography [tongue]!As the flash makes the stickers stand out on his pictures and the other picture is 2 dark lol. As Neils photo (good photographer) you can hardly c the sticker.  The large systainers 4 will have a much larger stickers right up 2 the top right?!  I think that will stand out more even with Neils good photography!

If I was having a systainer 1 and 2 I would go for stickers.  Has any one got a photo of a systainer 4 with sticker? Also is good at taking pictures  [poke]

JMB's!

JMB,

I think that I will be able to answer your question.  The logo is printed on the label or on the Fogtainer at the same distance from the bottom for a one thru a four.  That was done initially to reduce costs for the plates, etc.  To put that into perspective - it cost me $165.00 US to have the prototype printed.  Those dollars came out of my wallet, as well as the cost of the blue box in an attempt to make this happen.

I guess we can say that Brice - who won it in a contest - is the owner of the world's most expensive Fogtainer - about $225.00 US in that one.

The result was that if we kept the location of the print at the same point relative to the bottom we wouldn't have to spend another $750 to $800 US to make it possibly happen.

The labels were printed in the same location as we "advertised" that the printed cases would be to minimize the different appearances between the two (printed versus mega-labelled.)

Overall, more than half of the systainers will be going out with labels vs. printing.  I wholly admit that I am glad to see that happen.  I feel that it is a better product.  It does make it easier on me I admit.  I don't have to transport as many to get printed.  Each trip costs me 4 hours of billable time.

I am sorry that I don't have a 4 to photograph.  I had extra 4 labels and I cut them down to put on some 2's to get more out of the door.

Sorry for being long winded.

I fully understand wa ur saying. I just wanted to clarify that on the systainer 4 it will be a larger sticker to fill in the recess but the fog logo will still be set at the bottom. So I was just saying cus der is more sticker your eye maybe c the sticker more easily than on the sys 1,2  I deffos like Neils sys1 looks good.  The reason I would like to c a sys4  with a sticker as I might consider changing 2 stickers if I still can. Sorry to hear it's costing you.

JMB,

I contacted the printer and asked for a pricing to produce stickers in a quantity greater than what my books say are necessary.  You and I can talk and work stuff out.  My goal is make as many members happy with this experience as possible - no matter what.  This is personal to me.  I gave my assurances.

I only offered the history as an explanation.

I hopefully will know in a couple of days when I can pick up labels and then - if no one else has done so - will post images here.

Peter - soon not to be the recipient of many blue boxes.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

you must be sick of them by now [scared]. congratulations on running a great ship there peter . i know that every member here knows that they owe you a debt of gratitude for all the work you have put into this project

Alan,

I hope that there is a way that we can make it so that you can wake up in the morning and have one of these on your night stand!  [big grin] [big grin]

I'm traveling or I'd take a close-up photo.

But suffice it to say that the color match is outstanding.  I did a double take as it does look like it is printed on the box, not the label.

I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in the sticker.  it's STUCK, smudge proof, and looks to be durable for the long term.

There will be other who post in the next couple of days.  images will come.

I want to remind all of you that this project was about you - the participants - the trusters - the patient ones.

My hats off to you.

This would not have happened on a forum other than the FOG.  Not talking about the personalization of the product.  Talking about the the enthusiasm, the belief, the trust.

Enjpy!

Got home this evening to find a package at my doorstep.  I wasn't expecting it until tomorrow.  Looks very nice.  I am glad I elected to go with the label rather than the printed version, as it does look very nice.  Great job Peter!
[thanks]

My FOGtainer is a Sys II, so I haven't seen the labels on the larger boxes.  However, I imagine that the label is the better choice for those still choosing between printed or labeled -- the label is a much smoother surface than the bare FOGtainer, so if you wanted to add a label to identify the contents, it would likely stick much better to the FOG label than to the printed version.  Just my take.  Anyway, the label looks great on my new FOGtainer!  Thanks for a job well done!!!    [big grin]

I have

On order 1x Fog2
              2x fog3
              1x fog4

Like I said it looks good on 1 and 2  and maybe 3 so as long as 4 looks good I'd rather have all my fogtainers the same either printed or sticker and seen as 1 and 2 look good it kinda pushing me towards going for stickers.

Saw my first Fogtainer up close and personal today at the Woodcraft Roanoke store. I did a double take because I was sure that I was looking at the printed version rather than the stickered version. Upon close inspection, I could just make out the edge of the label. Great color match and a nice crisp image.

If there is  a second order, something should be done (however subtle) to differentiate the original Fogtainers from successive batches, if for no other reasion than to make the originals more "collectible" and reward the faithful for their patience, which I believe, was well rewarded by all of Peter's hard work.

Outstanding job Peter!

If there is a second round of FOGtainers (if Peter can hold on to his marbles!) then they'll be T-Locs. Is that subtle enough? [blink]
[big grin]

Before anyone asks, I do not have the forum software programmed to email me any time the word Fogtainer is mentioned.   [big grin]

Jim, thanks for the compliment.  IF there were to be a second batch, if I were to be involved, I agree that it would have to be different.  I would do several things differently.  I have learned much thru this fun project.

Jonathan,  I can reveal that I knew about the T-Locs quite some time before the announcement was made public.  I was given the opportunity to change out to the T-Locs at a similar price.  The problem was that they are not available yet in the dark blue, and the introduction date had not been established.  To me, based on all the comments here, that would have been a deal killer.

JMB,  my bet is that you will see your images of a 4 here sometime in the next couple of days.  I have blank fours here but I only have a few labels for 1's left.  That would leave a Although they were the least popular size, a whole bunch were shipped.  Unfortunately, the largest batch that was shipped went thru a Post office branch that didn't scan the barcodes on the packages that would allow me to know where they are in the world.
