Sal,

If you are waiting for the brown truck to deliver your Fogtainers, I have bad news.  They refuse to.  [scared]  But the US Postal Service will be delivering later this week! [poke]

Hope that you enjoy them!

Seth,

To help out here, Alaska (eleven feet tall) and Hawaii are waiting even though they were shipped  quite a while ago.  The majority of the final days worth of orders shipped Saturday.  Eight Fogtainers for new owners are sitting here plus the one that I tried to use as a cooking utensil by accident (mine now).  Three of those here belong to a member that I have been trying to reach since February 4th. [scared]  I am thinking about making those into a coffee table.

A very special one has yet to ship!

Care to elaborate on the cooking utensile use?  [tongue] Or did I just miss it in a prior post?  ???

Bet you hate me now  [big grin]

Seth

According to a 4am email I see just now, my Fogtainers are at the Post Office!

That's only 85 miles away - almost here!  Yippee.

Our mail comes on Tuesday, so I should get at least some of them today.  But our carrier's vehicle is pretty small - definitely don't think eleven feet of 'tainers are going to fit.....

I don't mind laughing at myself! [big grin]  I certainly have documented that having a whole bunch of blue boxes around kinda impacted the living space in my modest home.  One of the parts of this project that really ate up time was the installation of labels on about 200 of the Fogtainers.  One of the best places for lighting in my house at night is the kitchen.  When counter space got tight, I used this for supplemental space:

The light under the range hood helped out when trying to get those labels to fit.  But just leaning forward a little bit can  turn the knobs controlling the burners, and:

Not my favorite smell, but the texture is interesting.

Go ahead and laugh.  I sure did.   [embarassed] [embarassed]

You are supposed to claim that you were testing it for heat resistance  ::)

Peter, that looks like normal wear and tear to me.  [eek]  It's a good thing that you caught it in time.  [scared]

JMB,

I would love to have an induction cooktop.  [big grin]. For you see, I also do the majority of the cooking.  Darling wife does the baking and candy making to send to our extended family in Indiana a couple of times a year.

Is induction really that good ?  I would like to change to it but as my wife points out, all the top chefs cook on gas !

Yeah!!  I have one for my house! lol So its gotta be good lol!

Well my Mum has had one for about 6 years now a Neff one! Its amazing!  Much better than Gas!

1. It does not heat up it self it heats the Pan!(BUT the Pan does heat up the surface so it will get hot eventually but it does cool down quicker cus it doesnt generate the heat so you have more control cus soon as you turn it of no heat is generated so it stops cooking just like gas!) a normal hob still kicks out heat even when switched off so you have to physically remove the pan from its ring to stop heating your food.

2. It will not turn on unless something magnetic is on the hob!  So leaving a fogtainer on top would not turn it on lol!

3. Its far more energy efficient cus it heats the pan and the heat spreads around the pan evenly unlike a normal hob and gas

4. Its also child safe as it has a lock feature on it and if water spills over if you let it boil over the hob automatically turns its self off

edited: Oh also a little light flashes to say its to hot to touch if you have had a pan on heat for a while and the pan has heated up the surface so you know its hot when it stops flashing it will just be warm with a normal hob it glows red so you kno it hot but when the glow goes it will still be very very hot but you cnt tell untill you touch it so not very safe!

5. It has a super BOOST buttin this is for when you wanna super heat something!  Well you know me!  I needed to test this!  So I filled up a pan full of water!  I did it on the induction hob it took about 1min 40seconds!  I did the same test same pan I had let the pan cool down and put the same amount of water and did it on the biggest gas ring (my mum has both induction and gas) it took 9mins on gas!
WOW now thats fast! hey!

Well, I gave my postman the shakedown just to make sure he wasn't keeping my FOGtainer for himself!  Without breaking any federal laws, I had to take his word that he didn't have it!  Here's to a hopeful Thursday!  Haha
