My guess is that the next contest will be to win a CXS in a FOGtainer, since that's an up-coming tool for the US that hasn't been cancelled delayed...

Jonny, that's also what I think will happen with the last FOGtainer.  [scratch chin]  I was going to post that guess guess here, but you beet me to it.

has not been cancelled? anyone want to start a pool on what will actually make to market on time?:)

I'm hoping it's the first imperial Centrotec kit.  I might have to break down and get a metric one from the other side of the pond and a separate imperial bit set.

I already have a CXS so I'm pretty certain it will launch on time next month.

I do not know how to adequately say thank you to many members.

I can home yesterday and saw a box on my front porch.  It was a box that looked like it had travelled several times.  I recognized the return address name but was still confused.

After letting Mac and Goldie out to do what they needed to do, I opened the box.

The note on top read:'

" A collective thank you from Purchasers and Participants of the FOGtainer program.

Peter, thanks for making it possible for us to obtain a truly limited, unique and useful item."

Your hard work and persistence paid off with a great item.

Here are a few other items that we hope you will find useful and special.

Most are NAINA, one is a special build."

Here is what I found.  I admit that I unpacked and investigated and then put back to photograph, so the order of presentation may not be accurate.  I shot images yesterday and then doctored them but wasn't happy, so I shot more this morning.  They may illustrate the things, but they fail to show my appreciation.  I don't know if I could even if I was a world class photographer.

A Red Systainer with Green Latches

[attachimg=#]
1996 was a very good year!

[attachimg=#]
Even has the original label!

[attachimg=#]
Inside...

[attachimg=#]
A Mini FOGtainer - how cool!  Someone tricked me for an extra label I see!  Forgiven!

[attachimg=#]
Finally I have a Festool hat!

[attachimg=#]
A not available outside North America Hat!

[attachimg=#]
A FesTowel!  This instantly brought back memories of bringing MacGyver home as a puppy and staging him in a systainer with a green towel and a catalog.

[attachimg=#]
And inside...  from top to bottom:  a Festool credit card version of the swiss army knife, a Festool swiss army knife - I think this is the Tinker version, and a Festool snap off blade utility knife.

I admit that I forgot to show the 4 pack of Festool pencils and also the huge decal (Didn't think that it would photograph well).

Someone went to a lot of effort to do this.  That person contacted many participants in the program, and enlisted their help.  To everyone - saying thank you is not enough in my opinion, but that is all I can offer now.

I sent a message of thanks to the facilitator of this gift, and in keeping with his wishes, I will not reveal his name, but publicly I offer to him "Sir, your actions illustrate everything that I really wanted to come out of the Fogtainer project; A Can Do Attitude, Camaraderie, and a Whole Lot of Fun!  Thank you for your efforts, and getting others involved.  These will have a special place in my home and will always serve as a reminder of this Fantastic Project!  Long live the FOGtainers!"

PS.  It was never about the boxes in my mind - it was about you as members, getting you involved, and making this place your own.

Peter

Note:  The embroidery is beautiful.  The thread has a gloss and reflects the light.

Peter,

Enjoy it - You deserve it!

Thanks again for all your efforts. I know how much you personally put into this project, in every respect.

Thanks again for the hard work, those are cool items, when I was asked for a donation I jumped right in, you deserve it.

Peter - you are so very welcome. Hope to get to enjoy an end user class again with you soon!

And to the ringleader who organized this caper, you know who you are! Thanks for giving us a chance to express our gratitude.

I think that the FOGtainer junior is adorable.  I would to know the history on that lil guy.  I think that Seth has made knowledge about Systainers a priority.  Maybe he can investigate and find out.

I wonder how many people use the minis.  I have three but only use two.  The extra TV remotes use the other.

I was asked to provide a wider angle shot of the mini and its contents.  Unfortunately the best light in my house to bring this out would be the bathroom.  I am not going to post an image of Foggy Jr. sitting on the loo, so I will post tomorrow.

Peter

Peter,

I'm glad you seem ecstatic over our gift of appreciation (has nothing to do with me not buying a FOGtainer) for all the work you did and trouble you went through.  I kept riding you know who, hoping all the goodies would arrive in time for your birthday (sorry for the riding, you know who  [wink] ), but I'm glad you got it.

[thanks]

Ken,

The added bonus is that MacGyver needed a new hat for his avatar image.  Yeah!

Thanks to everyone.

Peter

i was dieing to find out what your were getting. i am glad that you liked it...and again i would like to thank your all of your effort. enjoy. [big grin] [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Hi,

On the two Systainers....

I have one of those 1996 Festo ones. The colors are not standard. It is a very dark maroon red with dark forest green latches and handle. I have not seen those colors on any others. I don't know the signifigance of the colors or what it was produced for. I have been trying to find out but have not had any luck.  Does anyone know anything about it?

Since no Mini FOGtainers were made.... the only way to get that Mini would be to buy the saphire blue Mini, and swap out the latches with standard Festool green, and come up with a FOGtainer sticker to put on it. Unless Peter made it for himself (unlikely) or Tanos/Festool made a special one time run of a single FOGtainer (even more unlikely).
