Stihl has come out with a five foot pole saw extension handle for the GTA26 battery powered trimming / chainsaw. I picked one up last week unexpectedly. Cost was just under $100.

Oh, I had some large tree work done last week by an outstanding arborist and his crew. They are all Stihl fans. Interesting to see that they changed over to using canola oil instead of bar oil about three years ago without any negative aspects. Cheaper and better for the environment, especially if you might use the wood for meat smoking.

If you go that route you'll run through canola oil 2x faster than regular bar oil as it slings right off the chain. You'll also attract mice if you leave the saw outside or in a shed, just remember to dump any excess when storing the saw.

That is a worthwhile observation. Both of them in fact.
The outstanding tree trimmers are mouse-lovers in disguise?
I guess it doesn't matter much to them if mice are present in customers' neighborhoods.

Just passing on some information. I have no idea if they like or love mice. I can guarantee that the tree work they did for me didn't affect the mice here. We have plenty. Our neighborhood consists of 4 to 10 acre wooden lots, so they are the natives.
