Hi all,
I am a fan of Forrest blades and see on their website that they make a WW1 specifically for the TS55 and 75.
Anyone out there using these blades? and if so could you respond with your rants or raves?

Thank you,
Eiji Fuller

I have the Forrest Wood Worker II for my TS75.

I haven't had a chance to install it on the saw yet.
It is a little smaller in diameter (8") than the standard Festool blades, so the depth of cut is a little less. The Festool Blades are about 8.25".

That amounts to a loss of about 1/8" in the depth of cut and also adding about 3mm to the depth stop to cut thru the material.
Please let us know the differences you experience compared to the festool universal blade.

Thanks,
Eiji

I use Woodwoker II and Duraline Hi A/T on my table saw.I think you can not do better for a table saw, but the cuts as good as they are they are no better than the Festool blade cuts in my opinion. Do not think because the Festool blade is cheaper it is not as good.

I have a Forrest Blade on my TS55 and I don't really notice a difference between it and the Festool blade that came with it.  I bought the Forrest because I was getting some chipping with some plywood.  After getting the Forrest and getting the same results, I figured out the correct way to setup the splinterguards and the results were noticably better for both blades with no real difference between the two.

Thats what I thought, glad I didn't have to spend $85 (USD) to find out. Thanks David.

I strongly agree with this.  When I first got into Festool tools, my thought was that their saw blades must not be as good as Forrest, because Festool charges so little for their blades.  I had a Forrest blade on a SCMS at the time.  When I compared the cut from the Forrest blade to the cut on my ATF55, the results were better with the ATF55 and stock Festool blade.  Yes, the stock Festool blade cut better than the Forrest.

Since then, I've learned to trust Festool saw blades.  In my opinion, Festool saw blades are one of the quiet treasures in their lineup.  For the price, you get amazing blades.

Here, here. Six years ago I was a proud user of three Forrest blades. When a dealer suggested I try CMT, I thought he was being ridiculous. How could such a relatively low cost a blade work as well as my beloved Forrest. Well, they did and the Forrests are proud keepers of the bottom of my spare blade drawer.  So when I heard Forrest had blades for the Festool saws, I wasn't motivated to give them a try. I happen to think that the Festool blades are as about as good as you can get and at a very reasonable cost.

I do keep them clean of pitch using the CMT blade cleaner. That is all the preventive maintenance I do with them. And I watch the cut quality. Sometime the blade will need resharpening or replacing...but so far, that hasn't been necessary. They are great blades.

I have several Forrest blades on the TS and SCMS.  I need to sharpen a TS55 48 tooth blade.  Should I send this blade to Forrest for sharpening or do you guys get good results locally?
