Peter and Forrest,

Congratulations on your new role.   I'm sure that you'll have the members whipped into shape quickly.   Hmmm...  Actually, they're already in great condition.  ???  OK.  Looks like you guys won't have much to do!  [smile]

Regards,

Dan.

Thank all of you for your kind words.  I certainly didn't expect this - I never win either.  But then again, over the last three years my knowledge has been enriched by all the posters and postings here so I guess you could say that I've been on a three year winning streak.  ;D

I had earlier posted that my 15 year old Golden Retriever ate a draft of something I was going to post.  Well, as predicted, both time and my draft have "passed" and he determined that what I wrote was *rap.    :o :o  Leave it to a dog to bring things back into perspective.

Based on his opinion, I will not post what was written, instead I will say that I look forward to the future and thank you for your support and kind words.

Peter

Thank you all again. Dan has summed up my thoughts - since there is such a great atmosphere here at FOG, hopefully Peter and I will have hardly any moderation to do! Just delete the occassional spammer and move an errant thread to somewhere more relevant. However having another two people "on watch" should hopefully allow Shane and Martin to devote more of their time to other things.

Forrest

Congratulations, Peter and Forrest.  I am confident that you'll both do an excellent job.

It looks like I have missed out on voting.

But as luck would have it, I would have voted for these two same blokes anyway.

Congratulations to Peter and Forrest.

Its great to know we are in such capable hands.

Regards, Justin

Are you kidding?  You got it backwards, I think we all owe you two the thanks.

Forrest is still a moderator here.  He is finishing up a project in a remote location that has limited communications.

Peter

I am still alive and well, through somewhat thinner! I gave up my day job in an office at the end of May and since the beginning of June I have been rennovating a cottage in a remote part of Scotland. There is no telephone landline, hardly any mobile reception (unless you climb a hill which is usually occupied by cows) and *definitately* no broadband! Communication with the outside world usually takes place when I go shopping to the local village, and I can connect via a mobile GPRS connection.

During the rennovations Shane has kindly granted me leave of absence as Moderator but I hope to be back soon, and sharing some of my Festool experiences with you all! Although much of the work has been to do with plastering and installing cables rather than the woodworking I prefer, my Rotex and other sanders have still been very much to the fore, making good the walls and ceilings.

I look forward to returning to active duty with the FOG, and would like to express my sincere thanks to Shane and Peter for shouldering all the duties in my absence. What I optimistically thought was going to take just one month has so far taken 5 1/2, much to the consternation of friends and family!

Forrest

Glad to hear you've been well, Forrest...you've been missed around these parts. Good luck with the project.

Rick

Great to hear from you, Forrest! We have certainly missed you around here. Look forward to your return when the time comes. Hope all is going well with your project (and otherwise).

We've been barely been getting along with just Peter, but have survived anyway. [big grin] [poke]

Seriously though, I couldn't imagine working with two finer fellows.
