I am still alive and well, through somewhat thinner! I gave up my day job in an office at the end of May and since the beginning of June I have been rennovating a cottage in a remote part of Scotland. There is no telephone landline, hardly any mobile reception (unless you climb a hill which is usually occupied by cows) and *definitately* no broadband! Communication with the outside world usually takes place when I go shopping to the local village, and I can connect via a mobile GPRS connection.
During the rennovations Shane has kindly granted me leave of absence as Moderator but I hope to be back soon, and sharing some of my Festool experiences with you all! Although much of the work has been to do with plastering and installing cables rather than the woodworking I prefer, my Rotex and other sanders have still been very much to the fore, making good the walls and ceilings.
I look forward to returning to active duty with the FOG, and would like to express my sincere thanks to Shane and Peter for shouldering all the duties in my absence. What I optimistically thought was going to take just one month has so far taken 5 1/2, much to the consternation of friends and family!
