Found A Domino "Replacement"

Found this while I was doing some looking around.
I don't think it comes with the router and I don't know how well built it is.
I don't need it 'cause I already have a Domino XL. But I thought it was interesting.
They get around the patent by having you slide the tool back and forth instead of the bit oscillating.
I like the drill handle/trigger idea.

Saw the router guide a while back (last year?). May be good for some dedicated or one-time operations, but not versatile, lacking, among other things, accessories, dust collection, preset variable depths and widths, and adjustable angle fence.

Looks like it'd be useful if you're installing Soss hinges and don't need a Domino.

There are several of those types of things around, in different colors. They are all essentially the same otherwise and lacking in many ways. The versatility of application falls way short and dust collection is zero.
They can do a few select joints in best case situations, but considerably more cumbersome.

There's the "good" version which is pretty expensive (relatively speaking), and a number of cheapo knockoffs on Banggood/Ali, but if they're anything like the Chinese clone Lamello Zeta P2 I have, they definitely aren't in the same league.

My concern would be the linear guides.

The side-to-side axis has linear bearings.  Possibly sufficiently long.  If you can find the instruction manual, it would be interesting if there is any provision for adjusting the clearance, or if you have to hope the factory got all the tolerances just right.

In the forward-aft axis, looks like two round rods fixed only on the workpiece side.  That axis is a little more suspect in possibly having some play.
