French Cleats - shelf/rack/mount ideas

Now that the shop is lined with French Cleats the fun starts, figgerin' out the best way to store tools & supplies. Looking for ideas on how to hang drill/drivers, nail guns, jigsaw, etc. If possible I'd like to have my commonly used tools hanging over the MFT/SYS cart in easy reach. Here's what I have so far:

Various 1/4" pins, holes drilled w/jig @ 2 degrees:

Clamps and guide rails:

Compressor:

Chargers (the back is inset 2" and there is a small power strip behind it, everything plugs into the strip to clean up cords):

Most everything has been relocated at least once as I add new FC fixtures and fine tune things, validating the FC approach.

Please post your ideas here, as noted I'm a still trying to figure out how to hang power tools, etc.

Also - this weekend I made up several designs files for small supports that can be cut within the 6" by 8" limits of the HandiBot:

And another file to cut only the cleat profile into the edge of larger panels:

The panel is trimmed to align the FC to the edge and then cut to size:

Would you consider using hide of some sort to fashion "holsters" for appropriate tools? Could potentially work as a safer option for tools that aren't bracket friendly.

Richard, Just to make your life easier, you may want to consider modifying the FC opening to have a symmetrical 45 degree angle on both ends. That way it's a universal opening and it dispenses with having to figure out if you need up/down or left/right versions.

The attached photo is of my pneumatic nail guns placed 6' high on some shelving but the shelf is tilted at 30 degrees. The tilted shelf allows me to easily see and choose which gun I need. This feature really works well for gear stored at the higher elevations.

Richard saw this over on GarageJournal and thought it would be good for you. Stck it on a board with a French cleat, use smaller size pipe for smaller bottles. The pics are 45 degree cut on 3 inch PVC.

All great ideas Richard. I am going to incorporate many of these for my own workshop. I would imagine that this is a huge improvement over your previous situation.

[member=12527]jroth33139[/member] - yes it is a huge improvement. Still have a ways to go, there are still lots of odds/ends that don't have a home on the FC so they end up clutter things up in the middle of a project, but that it the beauty of the FC  - you can just add stuff as you go.

[member=3192]rvieceli[/member] - Thanks for the suggestion Ron, had not considered much beyond hanging stuff and shelves on the FC. Lots of uses for those angled pipes like hand tools, perhaps even holding fasteners during a project.
