I'm in the process of making interior French Doors using the Freud router door set AND the domino. I need some help with the glass installation or any other suggestions. A single glass sheet will be used for each door (Simulated Divided Lite Doors). Each door will be 1 3/8" thick with the rabbets (glass stops) about 1/2" thick which should leave an opening of 3/8" for the glass. I'm planning on using 1/8" thick tempered glass.
Freud recommends that I use glazing tape and leave a 1/8" gap around the door between the glass and stiles (and rails). How do I prevent rattle. Also do I put glazing tape on both sides of the glass? In theory, If I use 1/8" thick glazing tape on both sides of the glass then it would seem to fill in my 3/8" opening. Any suggestions on preventing glass rattle?
I've search the Web last night and discovered "CRL Setting Blocks" although I'm unsure how to use them. Do these fill the 1/8" gap to prevent rattle?
Thanks a bunch for help or suggestions!
