French Doors-Punch List Road Block

At the risk of embarrassing myself I ran I to a real road block while finishing up a job I have been working on for over one month. Today was punch-list day and i am happy to report that I have enough experience to never let my punch list get too long and as a matter of fact I was looking at about three hours of work today just to tidy things up. Nice half-day-Friday, new job starts on Monday. Seemed like the perfect plan, in fact the sun actually was out today and it warmed up nice.

My last task was to scrape the two French Door units we installed this week. Freshly painted yesterday everything looked great. These two units came primed from manufacturer who painted right over the glass. I didn't give this a second thought as I figured (correctly) that the glass was covered with a plastic coating.

Well after twenty five minutes I had successfully scraped off the primer and the protective film from ONE pane. But there are 72 panes off glass  (when you count both sides of three full-light doors). I was so aggravated I went back to the lumber yard to complain. They (at least) called the manufacturer who suggested I use a razor blade....you think?

After returning to the job, I removed one of the doors and set it up out in the garage (drop-cloths/dust extractor, etc.). I went back to my shop and got a variety of razor blades, wall paper strippers, heat gun, etc., etc. and after another two hours I now have six panes of glass clean. Only 66 more to go.....

I have thought about solvents, such as lacquer thinner, but worry about the damage to the paint (BM latex) I already see that the doors will now need another coat of paint just from handling them again so soon after the final coat but I still think the solvent route might be too harsh....

By chance would anyone have any suggestions?????
