Freud blades for Festool plunge saws

Those are more then the tenryu's and I swore never to buy a frued blade again, about 6 years ago.

I think they are more then the stock blades on the saws.

I've been using Freud Diablo blades for quite awhile, even had them sharpened a couple of times.  I like them.  I use the 80t t on my Bosch 4000 contractors saw (now just a shop saw) and have no complaints.  I would consider them myself, if the price was right.  EDIT:  Just checked the price, 50 bucks, not bad.  Don't know how they compare the Tenryu??

Darcy, did you just get a bad blade?

I have just never liked them.  I used to use them years ago but, they lost their edge fast and I couldn't get more then 1 or 2 sharpening's out of them.

I bought 2 of the tenryu's for my 55, 24t and 48t?, the both cost under 30 bucks and I am very happy with the blades.  I put an 80t tenryu on my kapex for certain tasks, and I have been happy with it as well.  It has a AT AF grind with a raker, nice smooth cuts on thin stock.

My favorite blade is still a Matsushita, I had my 60t heavy-duty work horse re-bored for my Kapex, that blade is sweeeeeeeet!!

My 40t matsushita that I run on my bosch portable table saw made that saw twice as good.

I use the Freud blades on my TS55 and I think they're pretty good.  48T high ATB, cross-cuts plywood like butter with little or no chip out on right side of blade (I don't even bother with the chip guard on the right), and I think I just paid 53.00 and change (incl taxes) for another Freud blade.  Which is what I would have paid for the Festool blade with the 10% discount (I think).

As far as blade life,  I don't have much to compare to other than the blade that came with my 55.  It seems they both lasted the same amount of time (until needing their first sharpening), and you can definitely save some money just cleaning them in-between sharpenings.  As far as tooth life, I'll know more in the months/years to come.

Where did you get the Tenryu blade for the TS 55?  I was going to pick one up at the JLC show last year but balked.

I bought them, the one's for my 55 and my kapex, at a local woodworking store.
The don't carry very much stuff that I use but, they have all the tenryu blades and plenty of fastcap 2P-10.

Just got to Tenryu's website and go to the dealer locater, you should be able to find something close or at least where to order them.
I think the 24t was only 23 bucks, a steal if you ask me.
