I'm going to get another guide rail for use lengthwise on my MFT1080.  Is the FS 1400/2 the one to get for this?  I can't go much longer due to table placement and roof height, so I'm looking for the best fit.

Thanks

Yep.  Best bet would be to order the 1400/2 rail with the holes for the hole drilling kit -- only a few bucks more.

If you can go to the 75" (1900mm), I would. You can start into, say, the 48" dimension of standard sheets with the saw fully plunged and have support at the end. The ideal for that purpose would be 1700mm, but that is currently not offered.

You sure about that Corwin? I thought the rails with the holes in them only came in 1080mm and 2424mm lengths. Are they offered in a 1400 length as well? If they are, I'll get me one as the 1080 has been a little short for my purposes from time to time. Did I just miss this?

I think you are right about this Lou. I see no listing for a 1400 compatable to LR32. I know that several folks have bemoaned the fact that it does not exist.

Yes, Lou is correct - only two sizes for the hole drilling rails.

Oops!  Sorry, I've had house plans on the brain.  I do agree with above on the 75" rail -- a favorite!

I have two MFT's connected. using a 1400/2 guide rail and fence setup.  This is a wonderful work table, and gives me lots of area for panel cutting as well as glue-up surface.  However, I cannot place a full 4' panel on the table with the guide rail and fence in place.  The dimension from the fence to the front rail support is just over 43".  If you lay anything larger than 43" on the table, there is interference with the front rail support.  It is not possible to move the fence further back - it is already mounted in the rear-most set of holes.  Bottom line - you cannot crosscut a 48" panel on the MFT with the fence and rail system in place and a 1400/2 rail on the long side of the MFT.
