FS FS 1400/2 versus FS FS 1400/2-LR 32?

Quick question about rails from a Festool newbie: Should I get the FS FS 1400/2 or FS FS 1400/2-LR 32? If I understand things correctly, the only difference are the additional holes for European style 32mm cabinets. Not planing to use that any time soon but are there any downsides? Price is the same.

If the price is the same I would get the hole-y track. You gain future utility options for the same price. With the hole-y one you can create MFTs (with the LR32 system), make useful fixtures that use 32mm spacing, etc... I would get the hole-y.

This. I would even suggest to get the holey version in case it's a little more expensive than the plain one.

That’s what I did. Still haven’t used the holes yet, but someday....

BTW, I don't do this and now have two 55" rails....

I think most everyone would agree that un-holy rails shouldn't exist. I went a different path verses buying festool LR32 system I had planned, I still have zero regrets buying a holy rail.

Nice video, I like the way he used the saw to align the tracks when joining.

Actually, I had purchased a longer rail before I got the LR32 rail, so I haven't needed to join them....
