Who owns any of his DVD's?  A yr and a half ago I went to his show and it was awesome and took lots and lots of notes (even though on a different forum I stated i wasn't the target audience but I have since changed my mind on that topic)

I am mainly interested in his first two or three dvd's....I know they are quite pricey but going through his show I think they seem a good price.....can someone give a review?

I have a couple of his DVDs.  I have found them to add a different perspective to how I have always worked.  If you are a contractor I think that they are worthwhile even if you don't perform the exact work depicted.  Gary has a knack of being able to show and teach in such a way that you start thinking in different ways and translate the taught material into other situations.

Worthwhile in my book.

I've got the whole set of Gary Katz's DVDs and they're worth every penny.  There are tips and tricks in every program garnered from Gary's extensive experience that have made me a better finish carpenter.  It's not all earth shattering and some of it may already be how you do things but I guarantee he will demonstrate work processes and techniques that make you think, "Duh! Why didn't I think of that!"

I just this morning watched a new TIC video on youtube, which happened to be about something that I am not immediately or currently concerned with, but I still couldnt stop watching.

Every time I talk to Gary, I am inspired by his thirst for knowledge and sense of wonder about the connection between tools, techniques and finished product, and in the larger picture, the connection and overlap between finish carpentry and the finish process itself. Like most great teachers, he is a good listener and absorbs, retains and shares information extremely well.

for Gary's DVDs. I have them all, and think they're well worth the price.

I've also been to a couple of his Roadshows, very inspirational!

While Gary's presentation style has improved (he's more interesting and entertainting) since he made these videos the content of the DVD's is absolutely spot on. After all you buy these DVD's to learn new skills not for enteretainment. I would get them all, you will learn something in each video that you can use apply to any project. Definetly the first three are a great set within the set. If you can' t get the whole set, the door hangers DVD is also a great compliment to the first three DVD's.
