Well, we've waited a long time to release this page with accurate info.  Bookmark and be ready for that 12:01 AM email blast sometime in the future announcing pre order day!

Festool Carvex Jigsaws @ Festoolproducts.com

Festool Carvex Jigsaw ACCESSORIES @ Festoolproducts.com

Prices are accurate and live.  All info should be correct ;)  I'm sure there are a few stragglers from old copy when this page was made 1+ years ago.  Don't be shy about pointing that old info out, I know you guys wont be.

Keep an eye out for that email announcing the day we start taking pre orders.  Like all other dealers, we don't charge your card til the moment your product leaves the store, so don't worry about being charged until that new jigsaw is on the road to ya.  If you're not on our email list you can sign up at festoolproducts.com or toolnut.com

To add to what Sean said - feel free to pm or email us here as well to get on our list - we love chattin with you guys!

I might be interested in a corded version. Besides $200 whats the difference between Festool 561651 PS 400 EQ Carvex Jigsaw vs. Festool 561608 Carvex PSB 420 EQ Jigsaw

Both descriptions look identical and the compare popup is kinda messed up on IE9

According to the catalogue, the corded versions are $350 and the battery versions are $550. Sean's pictures may not be accurate.

My prices were off.  Corded Carvex's are $350 and cordless are $550.  That's why FOG is for beta testing ? ;)

The catalog describes both base and blade changes as tool-free.  I thought I had read in posts from our friends across the pond that the Carvex 420 still required an Allen key for blade and/or base adjustments.  What's the story?

THe original 400's that I had a chance to play with were tool free.  Haven't seen 420's in person yet.  Would have to rely on our friend's across the pond on this one.

Bases and blades are tool free, the Allen key is for adjusting the blade guides like the trion, Allen key is stored in box not on machine also. I think It's a great jigsaw

Well I guess that settles it on the mysterious problem and why the 400 was pulled back!

doe's it run smoother than the bosch? I have a bosch that's several years old now, and it
s still ok, although some vibration is beginning to be noticable.

MrMac, the biggest difference you'll notice and appreciate is the "smoothness" that's comparable, if not quieter than the Bosch, but ability to cut perpendicular in nearly all types of wood, no matter hte thickness, no matter how tight the curve.

Do we have any idea if there will be a bare tool version available for those that already have batteries and a charger?

The Carvex is no better than a bosch. If you already have the Bosch i would not waste money buying the Carvex.

John..

To be fair one would need to specify which model Bosch is being referred to.
