Funny... Golden chalice and knockdown furniture are two things you would not expect in one sentence.

Unlike Ikea and fall apart furniture  [smile]

Hi guys,

Here is a copy of the latest newsletter:

Festools own new Domino tenon.
As you have might noticed, Festool has just released new glue-less Domino tenons.https://www.festool.com/Products/Accessories/Pages/Variations.aspx?pid=201827&ppid=574320

We have waited for this new update after the release from Festool. As you will see, this glue-less Domino tenons are made for the bigger Domino joiner DF 700. The Dominofix is made and developed for the its little brother the Domino DF 500. Our application area for this first Dominofix will be cabinetry.

How it the production going?
We are at the stage that the manufacturer is producing a test-bulk. Meaning that 1000 pieces are produced and tested to see if the manufacturing process works out.

We also have received a big interest from unexpected angle regarding the Dominofix but more from that will be released later when we are in a more later stage.

Ironic that I was thinking of hunting down a Zeta shortly. Hmmm [huh]

Kev the Zeta is five years further down the road at the current festool rate of development best just go and buy one, I would recommend spending the extra and getting the diamond blade at the same time.

I would like to see some video on how these things work.

Is it still the usual practice in countries like Germany for apartment renters to install their own kitchen cabinets when they move in and then take them with them when they move out? If so, then I could see more use for these in such situations.

Following this development with great interest. I currently make my cabinets with the df500 and this would make an extra USP I could add to my repertoire without much difficulty.

Love the ''innovation'' of the Domino XL, I can't really justify the purchase of one for the 2 or 3 times a year I'll use it but when options like this get added it becomes more and more interesting. Perhaps I should start making more doors and bedframes etc...

On the topic of knockdown kitchens in Germany, im far from an expert but I havent heard this being used ever. Ikea is rather popular though, for cheaper rent options.

Something else I thought of, it would be feasible for even a hobbyist like me to transport larger cabinet setups if everything including the drawers is knockdown and can be assembled by the client. Sort of like custom high quality ikea...

My zeta gets used more and more everyday. I second the diamond blade. Zeta creates a mechanical lock with the mortise it cuts out and p connectors. domino will never be able to do that.

You could look into Rastex connectors for this purpose?

A copy from our newsletter send today:

The test production was successful!

As mentioned in the previous newsletter we mentioned that we had to test a bulk production to test on errors. The result was positive and we can enter the final stage before launching it. We are now getting all paperwork done regarding EU regulation before we can put the product on the market for both EU and NON-EU market.

We are hoping to have the Dominofix ready for order within 2 weeks and provide you with product pictures and video in 1 week!

We will offer a nice deal for all our news subscribers!

Hi guys,

Wednesday May the 4th we will launch the product photos and video from Dominofix.

Keep you posted!

Yeah.. But...:
Those new domineckors so allow for those times when I stand back listening to the sage observations of the Haus-Frau... Stroke my beard... and pull it apart to remedy some unplanned needed modification.

So they have a similar 'mulligan beauty' as that of the ClampeX.

Just to mirror what I posted on FB ...

Curious how much clamping effect this design would offer. I can see the anchoring effect would probably be ok. Regardless, this is immediately attractive to me if it's offered in ~D8 sizing.
