Good news:
Yesterday I ordered a WRC-1000, DTS400, 3000mm rail, 5 piece Forstner bit set, bench/rail dog set and a few other things. I had some packages waiting for me when I got home. That was fast! Thanks Bob  [thumbs up]

Bad news:
The WCR-1000 is not going to work with my set up. I will probably be posting it for sale here on the FOG tomorrow. I was really looking forward to having it [sad] Too bad it can't be exchanged for something else. I was a little disappointed that there was only one sheet of sanding paper with the DTS400. I have a RO150, ETS150/3 and RO90 and they all had a good assortment included.

Anybody interested in a new WRC-1000?

It's too bad that I just purchased one a few weeks ago. Why is it not working for?  Just curious?

Bob,

I have a CT26 with a boom arm set up behind my MFT/3. The WCR-1000 doesn't raise high enough and I would loose the use of the tool holder on the boom arm. My shop is in my basement and I do not have much room. I do not move my CT26 around, if I did the WCR may be more useful, but still low. I have a midi hooked to my Kapex that I move around if I need too.

What about the hose garage?  That would raise your elevation for the wcr to mount higher...does that make sense or seem feasible?

Bob

I have 22's...I see now that the new CT's have a hose garage built onto them already. My bad...bummer

Bob,
I have the hose garage on already, but thanks for the suggestion.

How about keeping it and getting the MFH 1000

That does look nice and it crossed my mind, but it would still be too low and I wouldn't use the stool.

How about doing like Paul Marcel did and place on a systainer or sortainer.  Would that work?

Hi Rocky,
I did watch that video before I purchased and again tonight. I might consider buying a sortainer and doing that, but honestly I will probably sell it and take a loss. I should just buy some metal peg board and attach it to the wall by my MFT.

Thanks,

Daniel

Why can't you return it for a refund or something else? Is that not possible in the USA? Here I would just return it and get my money back, no questions asked.

Hi Alex,
I would love to return it, but I don't think we can return non-tool items in the US.

Thanks,

Daniel

It's up to dealer. Usually you can return un-open accessory. Sometimes you have to pay for shipping back.

I opened it, but didn't connect any of the tool hooks. I would feel bad to even ask Bob if I could exchange it for something else. I do not have a store around where I can go look at Festools and try them out, if I did I wouldn't have made this mistake.

I am not sure that I understand the situation. Is the fact that they will not work due to your specific set up? Height or space restrictions?

The reason I ask is I have a CT26, work center and boom arm new in the boxes waiting to set up in my shop. I am under the impression all three will work together, so now I am just confused!  [blink]

Daniel,
You could aways build a mobile stand simular to the festool MFH 1000 which the WCR1000 would mount to. Im considering building one. Anyway, it will allow you to keep the WCR. It is a kewl little do-hicky

For me it is too low to work well with the MFT/3 and my set up. I would only be able to connect one of the tool hooks  because of the boom arm. I would loose one side of the boom arm's tool hooks because of the WCR. I would not be able to get the most out of it with my set up.  You may not have any issues with it. The WCR is not flawed, but it is not for everyone.

I may just try that. I could build a mobile sysport the hight that I want with the WCR on top. As it is now. My CT26 is not mobile. The only down side is that my shop is so small, so I wouldn't need to move it  [tongue] I think a metal peg board wall unit will be what I end up with.

Rocky beat me to the suggestion: just put a Systainer under it to boost it up. If the Systainer or Sortainer wouldn't be easily accessible, there's no need to put a Sortainer there.  For the longest time, I had a Sys4 on the CT-22 with the WCR on top; it was the Sys4 from the Installer's Kit if I remember correctly and I wasn't really using it.  You likely have a drill Systainer not being used as I keep my drills out all the time.  Before I had the WCR, there was a 'landing pad' there (which is now under the WCR to allow mounting it easily to the Sortainer) and it sat on a Sys1 for the C-12.

If you are going to sell it, you can at least give some of these ideas a try; it won't change your selling price but might change your mind on selling it.  I love mine and the Sortainer idea that someone suggested here in place of the Sys4 has made it only better.
