So last night I got to open the box for my new Fuji Q5 with gravity gun.  I haven't had a chance to spray with it yet (my PPS setup comes today) but this thing is mega high quality.  Came with everything I wanted and when i fired it up, it was noisy in my shop, but when i walked about 15 feet out of the shop where I would spray, it was about as loud as a vacuum.

I will post more when I spray some SW ProClassic later this week.

Very excited to move into this world of spraying!!

It needs to plug into the PPS cup. If you ordered the right cup there is a port on it for the hose.

Roger Phelps told me that the Q5's systems were shipped with a 3' heat dissipating hose(Fuji Part #7055) so was there one included?

My did but I sold it.  It just got in the way and quite frankly felt cheap.

Now I'm "most confused".

I thought the high heat hose went on the turbine outlet??? How does it get in the way? I don't like their gun leaders, but that's a different item (I believe).

I don't use a stock hose on my Q4, pretty certain I would not use a stock hose on a 5 if I get one.

It doesn't. It comes with the standard 25' hose and a 6' whip. The Q5 has the side box which is supposed to lower the heat through the hose. I hadn't seen any with a heater hose.

Would this be the one Tom?

I got the 22Oz cup and liners.  Will they fit in the same cup or are the lids and liners different diameters at the mouth?  Wondering if i am sending things back or not.

You have the Mid cup. It will not work.

The HO cup you linked is what you need.

I do not believe the liners are interchangeable. I recall Bill looked into this extensively.

So I ordered the cup.  The cups and lids I have in my hands are the 125 micron ones (blue lids) and 22oz/650mL cups (listed as "Standard" on the 3M website).  It says that it will work with standard and large lids and cups... so I might be OK.  I will let you know.

One more question, if I am shooting ProClassic, potentially some other latexes, KemAqua+ and other Sher-Wood products, would the 125 be good for that?  or the 200?  I am now confused as I thought the 125 was ideal for me, but some other comments seemed to contradict that.  Nevermind.  I found this on the 3M site buried in the fine print...

"3M™ Paint Preparation System (PPS™). The kit will either contain 125 micron filters which are often recommended for water-borne paint materials; or 200 micron filters for traditional solvent-based paint materials."

Looks like I have the right cups and lids!

There isn't a 3M PPS H/O(pressure cup needed for Fuji) in 22oz only a 6oz and 28oz.  Look here: 3M Cups and Collars

Some sites selling liners and filters call the mini-cup a 8oz but 3M stated that they've never had an 8oz, it's a 6oz so don't let that confuse you.  If you are unlucky like me the PPS cup will leak around the collar top which is solved by using two liners.

I had asked Roger Phelps about the heat hose and he said that he didn't have it in stock but was going to at some time so I got one from another vendor which looks exactly the same as Roger sells, looks like the same picture used.  It's a very heavy hose, not cheap at all and neither is the price!

I cant wait to see some pics of your results with this thing.  I have been looking at this thing for months but am scared to pull the trigger.

By stock hose, do you mean the flexible whip or gun leader?  What do you and why is better than the Fuji?

Stock hose (to me) is the blue one that looks like a garden hose.

I find the Fuji leaders fracture easily.

I use this hose. Light weight and durable. I've stepped on it a few times and it supported my weight without deforming. I feel the thin wall helps with cooling the air stream.

My bad, I was thinking of the whip hose.

Not sure what governs the color but my Q4 turbine, Gxpc, 25' stock hose and 6' leader hose all came in black.  I added a 10' leader hose because if your working off a ladder the 6' is too short as it get caught on the ladder's steps.  I had to specify blue/black.

Using it outside one day in the hot summer sun the connection at the two leaders popped off twice as it's just a barb fitting with no kind of clamp.  I swapped their positions and it didn't happen again but I've since added hose clamps at all joints.

That 25' leader looks better as it looks like it has crimp connections.  If I need a replacement in the future I'll be getting that for sure.

One thing, Fuji stated not to exceed 54' total hose length on the Q4 but might be longer for the Q5.  I use that 3' heat hose as well but didn't have it when the leaders were popping off, not sure if it would have helped as it was a lot of continued usage that day.
