Granat Abuse

Festool machines, especially the Rotex models, are meant for tough jobs. I wouldn't call it a Porsche, but a Hummer instead.

It is definitely a sander with a fractured psyche...split personality. Some of the trim and finer sanding we do with it, it is the most delicate, graceful little thing. That is why I refer to many of these tools as: "all the best qualities of all your favorite ex-girlfriends wrapped into one sweet little package." (patent pending)

I have to say that what struck me the most in this little test was the ability of the extractor to draw such heavy, dirty dust effectively.

I thought about setting up one of our old yellow sanders for the same test, but that would really suck.

nice...  do that 3 more times and you can sell "Authentic Rustic Table Legs" on ebay!

So you guys think Festools are toys for spoiled rich kids? Allright. If that's what you need. Considering how Scott even compares them to a girlfriend ....... some people go a bit overboard, really.

Festools are workhorses. Darn good ones.

Not those toys you only bring out on a good sunday to impress the neighbour.

On the bold highlighted part we agree completely. I even agree on the rest, as I am not a spoiled rich kid, have no neighbors, do not work on sundays, and make money with my tools the rest of the week.

Good post.

Now all that's left is to convince everyone to sand their firewood before they burn it  [big grin]

Less of a joke though - I have seen "tidy" piles of firewood before.

It really did clean it up nice. My only complaint is that the RO is unable to split and stack the wood.  ;D
