This would be for the LS 130 as well as a future ETS EC 150/3. Normally, I like the "net" abrasives (I've used Mirka in the past and also the 3M Xtract/Cubitron II for my ROS), but wondering if there are certain applications for which the paper is better.

One thought was for finishing finishes. For the ROS, Festool goes to a film-backing for 500 grit and above, with no holes, as it's meant to be used for quick passes over finishes to achieve a smooth, high-gloss look. At the 400 level, though I'm not sure.

I love the Granat paper, but have been using the Granat Net for a while now, and it's my new favourite! I haven't any of the 3M yet to try, but the Granat Net is a dream to use, and lasts forever!

Paper is better for keeping edges crisp, because it's lower profile and less squish. It's also tougher for gear-driven use.
