Grizzly Closeout on Festool Products

I feel for you Squal_line, when you tell your wife "it's my next project" she shouldn't keep reminding you every six months  [cool]

My sortainer just shipped. Sysroll backordered til December.

Backordered when they’re ending the dealership? Don’t hold your breath.

Got my phone call today.  The 6" abrasives that were marked as Backordered on my account and Sys-AZ drawer are no longer available and they didn't offer to backorder them (claimed they were completely discontinued?).  They asked permission to release the rest of the order for fulfillment, which, I dunno, seems a little odd, but it's probably protocol.

The caller mentioned something about another issue somewhere, but wasn't sure what it was (I'm guessing it's the Vac-Sys clamp/foot pedal which was on a different order that was already shipped).  He said he would call back if he had any other questions.

Fun times.

I got tracking numbers the other day for two shipments.  Two items from their MO warehouse are supposed to be out for delivery today.  The other 11 items are coming from the WA warehouse and tracking says Monday.  Still no word on the status of the MFT cross-members that were supposedly back-ordered.  At least they didn't yet charge me for them.

Mike A.

Update: The one package showed up today (via UPS), but it was really mangled.  Fortunately, the two sanding pads inside survived intact.  Now waiting until Monday for the other package.

Just received a notification that the LR 32 is backordered, also noticed they had me down for 2 of the items.  [eek]

So, I emailed Grizzly & noted the discrepancy in quantities and also asked them if the item was actually going to be backordered/shipped because they were no longer a Festool dealer...we'll see what they say.  [smile]

Thanks for posting - just looked at my order status (couldn't resist the DF500 assortment/cutters) and it showed backordered. Called CS and stock was in Washington and I'm all set now.

I hope it comes through for you - I love the LR32 kit.

I sort of really want that silly micro systainer with the bit holder and the bits.  I've been meaning to pick up that bit holder for a while, but I just can't bring myself to order only that and pay $10 for shipping.

I'm probably going to cave and add the edge sanding guide.  With the shipping, it ends up not really being discounted (vs buying the bit holder and the edge guide elsewhere), but those are both things I've wanted, and I would essentially be getting the micro systainer and the bits for free.

[member=44099]Cheese[/member] They did end up shipping my sortainer. So backordered does not necessarily mean out of stock.

Thanks for that Matt...It's kind of a weird website. Sometimes it works and sometimes it's slow and produces the incorrect values or it just freezes up.

Yesterday I placed some Org M's in the cart at $63 each, today I went back to order them and they're now $60 each but with a note that the items have been discontinued and are no longer available.

I'm gonna call them up and find out what's going on.  [smile]

I wish I saw this thread 4 days ago lol. there should be a "discounts" thread so we can all see when stuff goes on sale

Just got off the phone with Grizzly, the person I talked to said that when they say an item is "discontinued" they are referring to Grizzly not Festool and they are no longer a Festool rep.

So even though my invoice for the LR 32 stated "Backordered", after checking stock at their warehouses and finding none, the status was then changed to "Discontinued". He said they would also now change my order to cancelled and send me an email notification.

So...if you see "Backordered" it may or may not yield a Happy Face  [sad]  but if you receive a "Discontinued" notice they you're order is definitely toast.

Sorry you did not get the LR32.  Since I was the guy too slow to pull the trigger to buy it myself, I was glad to see a fellow FOGger (or are we Fogheads?) get it. But then you did not.  So again, sorry you did not get it.

I agree the site is strange and slow.  I ordered something and then the next thing I knew I had six of them in my basket.  I also am having things cancelled, backordered, whatever. If you think trying to straighten things out by phone, you can imagine what luck I had with e-mail.  I am to the point that I am just going to wait to see what actually gets delivered.

Maybe Festool knew what they were doing dropping them as a retailer.

I'm not sure I would use this week as an indication of their aptitude as a dealer or the quality of their website.  I'm guessing the 20% sale caused their website to get flooded almost as badly as a concert ticket website or a retailer selling PS5's.

That said, I'm not necessarily holding my breath on my first order, which hasn't shipped yet (my second order starts arriving today), nor on the "backordered" item from the shipped order.

I agree, I don't get too wound up about the lag or wonkiness except for two items...the incorrect number of items purchased which may be an issue even for non-sale days and then check out this.

Quantity ordered 1 each @ $452.96, Order total $916.60. I'd suggest everyone check their invoices for correct pricing.  [smile]

I agree I should not throw them under the bus for one confused order.  I am sure their Festool side was busy in the last few days, but that is just a small part of their sales, so they should have the resources.

Did you notice that your $855.94 total is not double the $452.96, it is $402.98 plus $452.96?  At first I just thought they doubled the order even though you ordered only one. Maybe  you bought one at 20% off and one at 30% off, then had both cancelled?.  So I will not throw them under the bus, but I am taking a step back.

Got my e-mail telling me that the Vac-Sys is no longer available and would be removed from my order.  It's just as well, since I don't have a pump yet, but still...

Also, all of the other items from that order (placed on Tuesday) arrived on Friday or are on a truck today.

The order I placed on Monday, however...  They called me last week to tell me that two grits of 6" paper and the Sys-AZ drawers were no longer available.  I gave them the go-ahead to remove them from the order and process the rest.

I called again on Saturday to find out the order status, since I already received items from an order placed the day after that one.  I was told that they needed my authorization to remove the unavailable items and process the order.  I renewed my permission and was told that the order would start processing/fulfilling.

Still no movement on the web status for that order.  At least one item on that order is preventing me from ordering another item right now (the Kapex UG stand, without which the UG Extensions are somewhat meaningless), so I'm trying to learn patience.

After lots of going back and forth, checking the fully checked out price, etc...I finally put in an order last week and to my surprise, everything shipped.

2 x 150mm Granat in 100 and 150
1 x TiD 18
1 x Micro Systainer with bits
1 x Systainer3 TB M 137

It sounds like selling Festool isn't a good fit for Grizzly  [eek].  I have been buying tools and supplies from them for ten-plus years and have had no problems with orders or communications with their CS or technical folks.

Someone mentioned that they were trying to add to the cart and then would see that five or six of the same item were in the cart.  That happens all the time with my orders and i finally learned to get around it by clicking add to cart one time, then close out of the site all together and go back in.  The cart will be updated and I continue on from there.
