Grizzly Closeout on Festool Products

Yeah, 1/3 systainers shipped with the remainder on backorder until "12/23/21," which is pretty unlikely.  The item link in the backorder listing shows the items as "discontinued."  They show up elsewhere on the site, as "ready to ship!" but I'm not holding my breath.  Good deals, but weirdness all around.  If it wasn't a vendor I'd bought from in the past, I'd probably steer clear.

My guess is that some of the items that were re-listed (back up to 61 items?) are from orders that were partially unfulfilled and ultimately cancelled.  I tried to order a Sys-Rock since it showed back up (with the free shipping, it's actually a discount), so we'll see if it fulfills or not.

I already have a bluetooth speaker (many of them, actually), for which I paid even more than the Sys-Rock, but none have an FM receiver, so that would be a nice addition to my repertoire.

If it doesn't ship, I'll probably just wait for one to show up on Recon again.

I ordered three systainers, but won't hold my breath.  [unsure] [scared]

I also ordered a Grizzly mobile base, and that went right through and I quickly got the follow-up email that it had shipped.

I went through the ordering process up to the point where they wanted to force me to have it shipped to the same address as my credit card billing address. That's a no-go for me. It never works out well.
Either they just leave it exposed, which is bad, or they leave a card and I have to drive across town to pick it up myself.
Send it to my work, perfect every time. Someone is there 6a to at least 5p  and 6 -noon on Saturdays.

Grizzly has some more Festool stuff on sale.  They've added some tools, including a CT 26, OF 1010, both sizes of ETS-EC sander, and a few more.

My credit card company thanks you.

Couldn't order the Sys-Box (backordered alert when paying), but the other items seem to have gone through.  As before, it'll probably take a few days to learn if the order actually gets fulfilled.

Ironically, in my daily "check websites for deals" checks, I had stopped bothering with Grizzly because they were down to so few items or any value to me.

Funny... my Sys Rock stopped working and they said, "We're happy to help you. We don't carry parts or warranty for Festool. Contact Festool USA. We look forward to assisting you in this matter." Robots...  [big grin]

I'm returning it to FUSA on the all-inclusive 30 day deal. Ultimately, I wasn't happy with the sound.

Grizzly must have had one or two of some of those items-I see a number have already disappeared.  Kudos to whoever was quick enough to nab those items.  26 vacuum, systainer cart, 1010 router, 125 ETS EC sander who knows what else are already gone.

When I first noticed they had added some, there were 41 results when searching for Festool. Now there are 37, so I think those four are the only ones that have been removed (thus far).

I figured the CT26, the 1010, and the sanders would be the most popular.

I almost added another set of the Kapex blades to my order since I was already paying the shipping, but decided against it.  The 2-pack with the standard and fine blade is already a decent-ish deal at full price, an even better-ish deal at their sale price.  I don't have the time or patience to arbitrage a bunch of stuff over to eBay or Facebook like I once considered doing.

Squall-line:
Sometime since late last fall someone mentioned on FOG that ZOOT had a pair of Kapex blades on clearance.  It was a pretty good deal and I bought a set.  It seems like they were in the $130-$140 dollar range.  They then repeated the sale again this spring, so it is possible it may happen again.  Don't ask me why Zoot (division of Amazon) even had Kapex blades, let alone on sale, but if you are just looking, keep Zoot in mind.  Again, someone mentioned it on FOG, but I am not good at searching databases so could not find it.

I was thinking about that ETS-EC 125 sander, but while I was thinking about the Grizzly shipping charge, someone beat me to it.  My credit card thanks them.

Ahh... I think I recall that post from earlier this year but before I had a Kapex.  I think the website might be "Woot!", which is a blast from my past back before Amazon bought them.
https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/festool-sales-dealer-area/kapex-blade-set-deal-on-woot/

Gah, it looks like I even commented on that thread back in March, too...

In any case, all sorts of reasons Amazon might have gotten their hands on a bunch of stuff to sell on Woot, likely similar to what's happening right now with Grizzly.  Eventually Grizzly's time will run out, either in patience or with their legal agreement to stop selling Festool, and they'll wholesale their remaining inventory to Amazon or another clearance house.

I re-discovered that post later in the summer.  I had ordered a regular blade off of Amazon Warehouse for less than retail but still more than half of the double-set price, but was able to cancel the order before it shipped when I learned about the double set for $220.  Then a few weeks later Grizzly did their 20% off thing and I grabbed a double set at 20% off (rather than 35% like the Woot deal) along with all of the other items I bought at the time (though still less stuff than if I had gone REALLY nuts).  That huge pile of stuff from them that now overwhelms and overfills my garage and basement...

You are correct, it was Woot instead of Zoot.  Probably why I had trouble finding it on any database search.  I think Zoot was the name of the clothes the big band people wore in the late 1930's-their zoot suits.  See how my mind wanders?

I checked on my order status today.  One of the three items is listed as "backordered".  Based on past history, I have a feeling I'm not going to see that item...

Got an e-mail today that my backordered item will ship in January, 2022.  So I'm thinking I'm probably not going to be getting that OF1010 that I ordered.  Maybe tomorrow on Recon?

They've got a few more things up. An ETSC 125 and some systainers are all that I can tell is new.

I would advise caution ordering tools from Grizzly at this point; they may all be returns.

To wit, the ETS/EC 125 that I got from them... The Systainer was grimy and beat up to the point it only closes if you push the bent parts around, but the tool looked clean.  When I removed the pad to verify it would accept a 6" pad, the pad and interior were filthy.  It was long past the 30 day guarantee period, so shame on me for not checking it over sooner.

I’ve gotten Festool’s in similar condition from Hartville .

Twice.

And they’re not dropping the brand.

FYI: FUSA wouldn't honor the 30 day return on the Sys Rock I got from Grizzly. They said, "This purchase was between you and Grizzly (the retailer), so Festool has really no involvement in this transaction, but I want to help you regardless." He offered to send a replacement radio or an accessory of equal value. I took the radio.

Though now I'm tempted to try returning it within the new 30-day window. The whole experience was an eye-opener for me. A month went by and FUSA never replied to the form email. Or my email request for a follow-up. I had to call three times to get someone to respond to at all. Then I got the run-around from a guy who shuffled me off to another guy who was "suppose to email you." I'm pretty much over Festool at this point.

FUSA is basically saying "They're no longer an authorized dealer, this is a private transaction"?  This makes me wonder if the tools themselves will even have a 3 year warranty on them.  I should have tried to register mine, but again, the goofy 30 day window.

Caveat Emptor.
