I hate having to make sure that it is square with a square before using it. Seems odd but anyway...Which of the new squares is better? I really like the Euro Version. https://www.festool.com/accessory/205229---fs-wa90°

I can only find it on eBay. If I knew it worked well, I don't mind ponying up for it.

That looks just the the TOS GRS-16PE, which assumingly is licensed by Festool in europe. I bought mine from Burns Tools online.

I just got a few weeks ago and i have been super happy with it. I don't have any high precision squares, but I did a 5 cut test and it was like dead nuts on.

TSO set the standard for guide rails squares.  Festool licensed it.  The TSO unit offers some great accessories for parallel guide use as well.  I’ve had mine for a couple of years and liked it so much I sold my Festool parallel guides as well as another set I had.

Like Neil said, TSO has really raised the height of the bar in this arena. More importantly, they don't rest on their laurels and are constantly searching for and incorporating improvements for all of their released products. I've already sold my Festool guides and am cleaning up my Woodpeckers guides so I can put them on the auction block.

I know they're pretty expensive, but I was still so impressed with the build of the GRS-16 PE when I got it. One of those tools that when I got it, I just went right at it and made random cuts for the pure satisfaction. haha.

Was kinda bummed they were out of the the TSO branded sys-1 But I found it fits perfectly with my track saw in the large box (makita), just slides nice and snug down into it. I ended up ordering a couple woodpeckers sys-1 for $49when they had em a few weeks ago before i realized the fit though.

I prefer to keep my TSO squares with the TSC & HKC.

Aside from the reassurance coming from GRS-16 user comments in this thread, you can expect something else that is not immediately obvious with the GRS-16 family of Squares:

they are part of a growing family of "System" tools - not one-trick ponies.  Your GRS-16 can put wings on your crosscuts for shelving or similar multiple parts by adding just one Right Hand T-track set from our Parallel Guide familyhttps://tsoproducts.com/tso-parallel-guide-system/tpg-20-tpg-30-parallel-guide-system-right-hand/

and if that's not enough,  that same set lets you rip many cabinet parts without even adding a second T-track.

And customers, like NeilC, could upgrade their early model GRS-16 to current functionality because we continue to design backward compatibility into newer products.

While we continue to obsess over innovation and precision we are keenly  aware of our shortcoming in the area of "marketing communications". We are finally making progress in that area as well with a new YouTube  how-to video explaining our Parallel Guide System:

Aligns square automatically and is adjustable for angles other than 90.

Hi Hans and Eric,

    Let me add my note of appreciation for the video on narrow rips with the TSO parallel guide setup. I continue to be impressed with TSO products the more I get to use them and demonstrate them for my customers. Hans and Eric and crew have taken a look at the Festool parallel guides and figured out a number of ways to improve on them, especially related to using the GRS-16 as the basis, allowing squaring cuts as well as parallel rips on, for example, sheet goods used for cabinet construction....I also appreciate the fact that TSO continues to innovate over time....kudos to you folks and live long and prosper....

As a newbie, I'm finding that not having a rail square quite a hindrance and getting one is high on the list. The TSO looks great and the UK price is in line with the other available squares. Is the licensed Festool square identical to the TSO in function? As the TSO is out of stock I might have to go with that option. Then there's the Bench Dog Square..
Anyone have any experience of that?

As you know I was one of the first to purchase the complete system and loving using it. Unfortunately at the time the only option was to use two squares with the system. I later added the adapter and thought it would be better to use two adapters (instead of one and a square) for long rip cuts. I see this is what you used. May sell one square to buy another adapter.

Also, you made calibration look simple! I usually end up cutting and readjusting a few times. On that note I would also like to have a flip stop that stays with each t-track so they are calibrated as a set but this would cost an additional $200!

I use your products on all my projects. My issues don't stop me from making great pieces but would make life a little simpler (and easier on the pocketbook).

Another thumbs up for the video.  I have only used my 30s but needed the 50s for some new cabinets this weekend.  I had almost forgotten how to calibrate since I only did it once.  But I had just seen this video and that was an 'ah-ha' moment. 

I also would like more stops but the price is just too steep.  We need a group purchase.   

I did notice using the 50s that when I went around to set up the left side, I noticed the numbers were upside down (at least from my viewing point).  [member=61691]TSO_Products[/member] Hans, Is there a reason the scales are like that ?

Hmmm. I see from the video that the TSO PGS has both inch and metric scales on the same track. I have only metric on my Woodpeckers PGS as I ordered it that way, but like many or most of you I move back and forth between inch and metric units.

i feel ya [member=1170]Stan Tillinghast[/member] . I have some incra t-track plus that i use with some 3d printed brackets, obviously my solution cost much less, but its imperial only. i'd need another set of tracks and printed brackets but these with the square seem perfect

Hans/Eric, great video. really makes calibration easy to understand and do. Now that I know how to calibrate the PGs for thin strips, Im gonna be useing the heck out of them makeing cabinet door parts.
