Depends if you are going to use the LR 32 HOLE DRILLING SET? If so then you need the holes. Otherwise the holes are not needed.

Since the "Guide rail FS 1400/2-LR32 - 496939" will do everything that the regular 1400 with no holes will do. The FS 1400/2-LR32 is clearly more versatile
