I made these a while ago, but thought I would post in the event others can use it. I had a need for some low stools/horses for elevating cabinets for finishing, various cutting operations, step stool, resting my fat rear end, etc. Pretty typical stuff. I decided to make the tops the same dimensions as a systainer, and low and behold, they can nest on top of a systainer stack for storage. I also made them so that when one is stacked on top of my CT26, it is 900 mm high, so it is level with my MFT for supporting oversize boards. They can also stack on each other. I made the tops as torsion boxes with 1/4 inch ply, but just 3/4 ply with some aprons would work too.

Definitely not earth shattering, but if you are pressed for space, it is nice to be able to nest them on top of your stack at the end of the day.

At first look I am/was underwhelmed.
But they have personality. Kind of growed (sic) on me by the last photo.

Nice.  I've found that some of my most humlble shop items (low grade cart in my case) are my most utilitarian.  What motorcycle do you have?

Very nice! Could you do a dimensioned drawing? I know that I'm doing this weekend.

Yeah, funny how something you threw together in a few minutes gets used every day for five years. The bike is my son’s successful attempt to give me gray hair. Yamaha R3. I don’t worry about him, but lots of idiot drivers on their phone these days.

No drawings unfortunately, but the top needs to be 396 x 296, although I gave myself a few extra mms. If you have a CT26 the legs need to be 365 mm to make it even with the MFT. The top of the CT stands at 535, more or less. Everything else was dependent on whatever scraps I had lying around.

.

Nice.  Enjoy. If you don't have one already, consider getting one so you can ride with him  [big grin].  I have great memories of riding with my dad back in my early 20s.  Me on a modern sportbike (CBR600), him on a sportbike of a different era (Norton 850 Commando).  We had a blast, often switching bikes during rides.  I miss that Commando.  Although it was nearly as old as me at the time, it was a true pleasure to ride (miss the 600 too).  If foresight was 20/20, I would have bought the Norton from him.

His riding days are long behind him.  Mine have just begun again after a 20-year hiatus . . . my attempt to give myself even more gray hair.

It would be fun to ride with him, but I would have to figure out where to live when I got back home, because it definitely wouldn't be with my wife.

Enjoy the bike!

Get a bike for two-up riding and take her along. [big grin]
