Happy Thanksgiving!

I know that we have grown into a truly international community here  [thumbs up] but today is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States and a time to celebrate, reflect, and be thankful.

As I sit here in my hospital room getting ready for another day of chemo being administered by those who can't be home with their friends and family, I am thankful for the dedication of those in the medical field, with those who are helping me now as well as those who came up with the treatment regiment that has my cancer retreating and looking for a place to hide.

I certainly have to say thanks to all the members here for everything that they have done to support me verbally and otherwise.  It had been a lifesaver in its own way.

And then I have my family (Willy, Richard, Mike and family, Bethany, Goldie an MacGyver) to thank for their emotional support and their encouragement and emotional support.

And to the FOG and Shane.  The FOG and my responsibilities as a Moderator has certainly been an important part of my personal life for now going into its sixth year and for that I am thankful as well as for the latitude given me thru the last few months.

And then there is everything else.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Peter I know what you mean about medical personel, my son is a CRNA at a local hospital and this is the first Thanksgiving in a few years that he has not been on call.  I he is paid well for the long hours he works but he loves his job and helping people and I am thankful for him and others like him.

That's it, Peter, we all have much to be thankful for if we stop and think about it. We should try to think about that every day, not only on this day.

I'm pleased that your treatment is going so well, and very impressed with your positive attitude. You're an inspiration to a guy who sometimes has trouble with that.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  I made sure I got an extra big Turkey so I could tell the wife, "Hey, the bird's not gonna be ready for at least three hours.  Why don't I go and work on those cabinets?"  So my day so far has been cut wood, baste turkey, cut wood, baste turkey....
