I rarely use the protractor/fence on my MFT.  Looking for a way to hang it on the wall behind my MFT....has anyone come up with something?

I switched to a Bench Dogs mount for the fence and rarely use my protractor. I hang it at the back of the MFT from the bottom track of the back rail. File two small slots and slide the pins (that attach the head to the fence) in and over. You can then tighten the pins to keep the head from moving. If you have the angle braces you just have to think it through and see where you can/want to park it before you pick the location of the slots. This does not interfere with any future use of the bottom track when you remove the protractor. Since hanging it here, it's never been in my way, yet it's always handy if I decide I need it.

I'd like to see what you came up with as I do not use the protractor often and have taken it off my MFT. I would like to be able to keep it with the MFT and not rummaging around in the shop trying to remember where I stashed it 3 months ago.

My OPFS is getting overloaded so anything that helps me keep track of seldom used items like this is good.

Warning…..I too don’t use it and haven’t for quite some time…hung it up…and in no time at all I started hanging smaller things on IT ! Removed it and have more used items there now.

I don’t have one, but I hang my TSO squaring arms on 1/2” diameter wood dowels set into the side of a cabinet.  The wood provides enough friction so they never slide off.

It appears that the protractor could be hung the same way.  If you have exposed studs, you can drill a 1/2” hole in one and mount the dowel onto the stud.

Note:  Maybe you can correct the spelling in the title of the thread from “hand” to “hang”.

I think "came up with" would be a wild overstatement of the effort I put out. I put it on a couple of slatwall hooks near the end of the MFT. With longer reach hooks, it can be turned around so the pretty side can be facing out to impress friends and neighbors.

I don’t like to hang aluminum measuring pieces on steel pins.  I prefer the wood pegs.  As a rule, wood is softer than the aluminum and any damage would be to the peg.  Steel, on the other hand, is much harder than aluminum and can distort the hang point.

I do hang my track by the hole that Festool has provided.  It is not a measuring surface and the damage to the hole will not impact the accuracy of the track.

As mentioned in the earlier post, attached are photos of the protractor hung from the bottom of the MFT track. I cut two small slots with a needle file in bottom of the bottom facing track and then slid the fence mounting pins and slid them over and tightened the clamp. I set the protractor at 45 degrees to allow more space under the table to the floor.

I hang my 3 protractors on the wall.
Sorry still can’t post pictures. Oh well.
I that a piece of 1” by 1” wood and rip a v groove in it to accept the part that rides in the v groove on your table.
I then stand this piece off the wall a little bit so the clamp part slides behind and you can tighten it up a bit.
Works great. I put the “angle” to 90* so I have mine on a board about 18” long or so.
