Hello,

I am just introducing myself. I am a self employed plumbing and heating engineer based in Glasgow, Scotland.

I have been a lurcher on this forum for a couple of years now and thought I would introduce myself now.

The Festool products that I currently have..

Plunge Saw and guide rails,
Dust Extractor
Numerous Systainers & Sortainers,
SYS-Roll Trolley
SYS-Cart Trolley

I think I have started to catch the Festool bug and love the idea of the systainers to keep me organised in my work, but being a Plumbing & Heating Engineer, there isn't much range of tools for myself to justify buying and I start to get jealous with the carpenters and joiners with the range of tools that are available for them but hey ho!

Don't know how much help to the forum I will be but I certainly enjoy reading the posts and I will help out /contribute when I can.

Speak soon,

Alan

Is there a story behind "ignite plumbing" ?

... sounds like you had a moment of learning [big grin]

Well you could say I had a moment of learning, but it didn't influence the company name...

When I was an apprentice I was soldering / welding a pipe in a basement once and the old horse hair pipe insulation is extremely flammable, I thought I had cleared enough insulation away but clearly I had not and it caught on fire spreading in both directions. So I was trying to put it out with my hands before it travelled through the walls to spaces that were inaccessible easily.

We eventually got the fire put out with the garden hose but had to turn the electrics off because it had started melting the electrical cable so I was working in the dark and was completely soaked because of the water. Let's just say, that wasn't a nice experience and certainly a learning curve.

And it always happens at 3:30pm on a Friday when your wanting to get home [emoji25]

Hope I have made you laugh. Lol.

WOW! That would have been a tense moment. [scared]

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Would be great to see some pictures of your plumbing gear organized in systainers.

Seth

No problem. I'll try and get some pictures uploaded for you to see. I'll take some tidier pictures tomorrow on how they are supposed to look rather than thrown in and let your have a look.

Keeps you in suspense a wee bit, ha ha.
