....A group of regular people gather and get to their seats

ME (at podium) - "Hello, my name is Frank....and umm..and I ummm...I'm a Festoholic"

Group - "HI FRANK!"

ME - "I became addicted to the Green Koolaid in April or May 2013. I've spent money I could have used for my photography, food, son's clothes, landscaping, pool chemicals, shampoo, and other needs on my addiction to the green machines. I became aware that I was heavily addicted while spending time in Germany, where my pusher kept showing me magical machines that pulled at my very being, and forced me to secretly tap our bank accounts, credit cards, and any money I found on the ground, or could panhandle to service my increasing addiction."

Group - "We understand Frank. Continue, PLEASE"

ME - "I now know I have a terrible sickness. I'm fighting it as best I can"

Group - (All enthusiastically applaud)

ME- "I actually went almost a week without a Festool purchase, and thought I might get a Festool Anonymous chip, but I have once again succumbed, and I don't have a sponsor to guide me"

Group - "None of us have sponsors... we're too addicted, Frank... just like you are"

ME- "I thought I could resist, and I made it all the way to.... today...having resisted for a whole week... but I HAD to get the Domino 700XL with BOTH domino 700 domino assortments and the Bits while they were on sale. I just thought I would DIE if I didn't have them.  Last week it was the Domino 500 and its assortment and I thought it looked too lonely without its big brother keeping it company. OMG!  I need serious HELP!"

Group - "You Lucky bastard"

ME - "Now y'all don't get testy on me!  I found I needed Granat abrasives for my sanders too, and Tom,  the Pusher at Tool Home just HAD to offer abrasive assortments that he KNEW I couldn't resist... so I was 'forced' to order them in two different sizes to appease my addiction...and they came WITH systainers!" Ooohhhhh! [tongue]

Group - "There's an assortment?? Really??? We didn't know that!"  (Three people suddenly leave the room in a hurry)

ME- "HELP ME PLEASE!!! I'm being totally obsessed with the Kapex, MFK700, OF2200, RO150, and HL850 that Pushers Peter and Sean at ToolNut (Well-known Festool Dealer Criminals wanted in three States by the FBFDI) know that are just about the LAST remaining machines missing from my addictive collection. Please....PLEASE help me resist!"

(The members of the Group have all suddenly left and are seen in the parking lot with cell-phones to their ears, speaking in excited tones to dealers unknown)

ME - (Looking disheartened and crying) "Nobody will help me...I am beaten. I cannot resist. It is completely and totally futile. I'd commit suicide, but I don't know if there are Festool products in Heaven OR down below in the fires. (well... maybe in Purgatory)." [crying]

ME -(Leaves the room dejectedly while trying to figure out where the nearest Wi-Fi location is to access the FOG)

Addictively,

Frank (Certified Festoholic)

Frank,
Yes I have the same disorder.  I've been following your decline for sometime now, both here on the fog and over at sawmill creek.  I too was in the same situation you were,  you know? Needing the kapex to complete my collection, I kept fighting with myself. I already owned 3 very good saws.  But one day, I just knew I needed a kapex.. So I went and ordered it.  Don't wait as long as I did, you will never use another saw.  The kapex is a total game changer and ultimately my favorite tool.  Don't wait, go get it. After all, if you needed both dominos, you definitely need a kapex..  You will not be sorry

Oh great!  Another enabler!!! [scared] Just what I need! [sad]

Kapex is on my short list (along with the discount on a second MFT/3 with it). I am so sick! [scared]

HELP!

Frank

Frank:

Sorry I missed the FA meeting,. Sounds like it might have been interesting, but my Doctor wouldn't let me out just to attend.

Let me know when the next meeting is and I'll try to be there...assuming I can afford the trip after I buy more green goodies!

[eek]

Cheer up Frank. It's clear sailing once you have the vast majority of the Festool range in hand.

Hey - it's just gone 8:00 am here on a Saturday morning. I think I'll pop down the road to my premium Festool dealer ... just for a little look.

Tuesdays at 7:00PM at Our Lady Of Green, Non-Denominational Church.  Look for the "Festool Fan" bumper stickers. The entrance to the hall is just in front of that parking lot (though attendance has been very minimal of late).

The next FA meeting will be held over Skype ... and make certain you pay attention and don't have ToolHome open in a browser window this time! OK?? [wink]

Frank, unfortunately you can't get the discount for the mft3.  You only get that on the kapex MFT.  I tried that as well.  But definitely do get 2 of them.  That is where the fun begins.

OK... FINE! [mad]  I'll just get the MFT/3 with the HL850 then!  Oh... and another CT36 with the dang RO150.

Stop being a spoilsport! [wink]

Cheers,

Frank

Did you pick up a BS105 while you were in Europe? (just idle curiosity)

That's on my short NAINA list... shipping would suck, though...

Great luggage option for a Peter P world tour!

One night I sneaked a peek at the FOG and lo and behold there was ligh^H^H^H^H a TSC 55 and a PDC 18/4 review online. A few weeks later comes along an article on Incra + MFT-VL + Precision Plate goodness and a few weeks later I get a call of the seirens to get discount on the 18V machines.

I could not fight the temptation any longer and had to order the lot and threw in a set of Precision Parallel guides as well as some Veritas shinnies. Now my wallet is abt. 3000€ lighter and I'm trying to stay dry for a while again.

We are so screwed for our money and we shell it out with a big smile on our faces, amen. [big grin]

Fear not for after one has the majority of the Festool line up a good cure is to buy some floor machinery. Such as a Bandsaw, jointer planer unit or separates and of course a sliding tablesaw. Thus there will always be an outlet for your addictions. Oh my bad lest we not forget the luxury hand tools and measuring and on and on and on!!!

Mine addiction did causeth me to seek long and hard at the BS 150 Belt Sander.  I wanted it, I needed it, I desired it, I felt it, I coveted it..... but alas, I would have needed a step-up transformer to USE it, and I already have two Green systems that will require the transformer. (Edge Bander and Vacu-Clamp system). The transformers of that wattage are really heavy, and my addiction had to take my back problems into account, so I decided to wait for the 150 unit to get to North America.

Oh ye, of the Freedom Loving Countries....Be comforted that thou shalt eventually have thine Belt Sander in thy hands if thou waitest long enough. So saith my Festool rep in Deutschland if he be holy and without sin.

Blessings,

Frank
