I'm looking for some guidance, assistance and instructions on how to remove some water marks/stains on a 60+ year old stained buffet.  I have included pictures for reference.  Each main water stain is about 4 inches in diameter.

I'm looking and hoping for some expert advice on how to remove the stains and then to reapply some clear finish.

Please reply/PM with assistance.

Thanks,
Mark

Rub the marks with a little lacquer thinner. Let us know how the mark and finish reacts.

Sometimes if you take a wet papertowel and lay it on the water stain, and run an iron over it in quick spurts it will sometimes pull out water marks and leave the finish unaffected. I have tried this method on kitchen cabinets with water damage and it worked great, but the water marks you have are a lot larger and "stronger" if that makes any sense.

Here's what I have done several times with great results... Find an old t-shirt and wet a corner of it. Put a small dab of toothpaste on it and rub it on the stain in small circular pattern. You should immediately see the stain fading. Continue until entire stain is no longer visable. Occasionally add moisture if the paste becomes too thick. When done, take moist t-shirt and rub away any excess toothpaste and then dry off with dry part of shirt. Here are some pics from a recent repair. Hope this helps![attachimg=1][attachimg=2][attachimg=3][attachimg=4]
